Tonight I was thinking about the long defunct raw food site www.eat.rawfood.com. I was reminiscing about what a fun and active place that was and how many wonderful people I met there. Then I remembered this site and wondered if it was still active. I came here and now see in disappointment that it is a ghost town. Wow, Facebook really ruined good supportive social media. When have y

I have a nonhormone IUD that has been in my body for almost ten years. I have to say that having sex without worry has been great. The first few months had been heavy blood flow, but everything normalized within time and now I am enjoying it greatly. Mine is copper, not plastic. It does not gross me out. It makes me feel fortunate to have such a reliable, hassle free mode of birth control.

My friend was just diagnosed with Graves Disease. Does anyone have a success story of curing the disease with a raw diet? I am very concerned about the medications she will soon be taking. Thank you.

My eyes have definitely become clearer and brighter. When I first went raw, it was one of the first things I noticed when viewing before and after pics that I saw online. Everyone had very beautiful, vibrant eyes. The pic of Phil above is a good example of that.

I agree that it is a great book. Even though I am aware of mass scale corruption, I still am amazed each time I hear of a new example of it. Some people are capable of the lowest lows in the name of greed. This book saved the life of my friend who was diagnosed with lymphoma and decided to treat it through diet after reading it. This went against the strong advice of his doctors, family and f

Hi Mislu, I am on my 5th month of raw and something very similar was going on with me at the beginning. I would alternate from constipation to very loose stools. My stomach sometimes hurt after eating very light meals because of the constipation. It was very discouraging because I felt excellent in every other way. My experience is that it has slowly become normal on its own. I didn't spe

That was my experience in the very beginning. I'd go from weakness to bursts of energy, just like that.

I am not the type of person who can have a weak moment and then so easily get back on track. I have to tell myself if it is cooked it is not food, period. I cannot make room for an occasional indulgence.

I agree that "crazy" is insensitive, thank you MauiGreg. I even wonder about using the word "disorder". For me, it falls into the realm of disorder if one has trouble being able to cope and experiences severe pain. I agree that we have to be able to numb ourselve somewhat to the reality going on around us to be able to cope. But at the same time I believ that we all deserv

I eat at home most of the time, but my sister was in town last weekend so we went out to a raw restaurant. I had a raw veggie burger and it hit my stomach like a bomb. It really hurt! I was in constant pain for the rest of the night. I had not been there in ages and the last time I was there I really enjoyed it. I realized how much and how quickly my body is changing the things it likes and

Wow, it is great to hear of additional people who have had such profound changes in their mental well being with the change to a raw diet. I knew from my own experience that the potential to overcome depression is there, but it is great to hear about Devric's experiences of overcoming anxiety related disorders too. Like Devric, when I went raw I completely dropped the television too. It wasn

My obsessive personality is such that if I tried to gradually take the plunge I would not have been successful. I need to just jump into things and be totally committed in order for me to be effective in the things I do.

Hello everyone, I was wondering if anyone has had personal experiences or someone they know who has had experiences with mental disorders being alleviated with the help of raw foods. I know the diet isn't the only factor in disorders, but it definitely contributes to well being. Since going raw, my chronic feelings of despair have vanished. I feel peace and joy that I had trouble accessing

I am an artist. I am hoping to go to grad school to study art therapy next year in order to learn how to bring out the healing aspects of my own art rather than to become a clinical art therapist (although I'm not opposed to showing others the power that can be found in their own art making and creativity as well).

Hi Islandgirl, My mom has fibromyalgia. For her, any change in her lifestyle will bring it on. Maybe the pain you experience is just your body being forced to become acclimated to a new way of living and after the readjustment you will feel even better than before .

I believe that pain and joy are both a part of life. We have the opportunity to learn from pain which will allow more joy to come into our lives. Khale, I agree with you that when you change, the world changes. I always say too that we create changes in the world by making the changes within ourselves. That is how I can say I am an activist.
