I always feel like that when I have a lot of green leaves, I have seen people refer to it as "Alkaline Bliss", I love it it's great. I tend to find that I have more energy Raw than I know what to do with so staying active always helps.

I used to have those a lot, since becoming vegan I had them less. Someone told me years ago that it was a calcium issue, then someone else said it was a zinc issue. I don't know what causes it but when I am eating 100% Raw I don't seem to get them, perhaps it has something to do with the acidity (ph level) of your body.

I think they are ok. They have an interesting flavor which is quite subtle, I would like to try them fresh really. I have only had the dried kind. I have to say I was disapointed given all the hype about their flavor, but oh well, after all there is a lot more to life than eating

Personally I believe (and I would say others here would agree) that eating a raw food diet is a diet you can follow for life, think about it; your diet should not be toxic. If modern diets weren't bad for you there would be no such thing as a detox. I suppose you could have some minor stomach problems in the beginning as your body adjusts, I think as dulset said for most people your deigesti

Hi my fellow Vegan friends, it's been a while since I have been on here! Hope you are all well. Juicing is great, I love it. I don't do any long juice fasts though because I find it so expensive and I end up throwing out all that great pulp. I find I don't get as hungry doing longer periods on Green Smoothies rather than juice. I am going to do a 5 day water fast starting this weekend, I

Do what feels right for you. It is a good idea to take B12 in my opinion. More greens might help you further, but its up to you. You can analyze the nutritional content of all of the above at Just use the Pantry option to add and analyze more than one food.

My sense of smell is also greatly hightened. I have noticed that if I get very close to people who eat a bad diet, particularly older people, they smell bad, it's not over-powering but it's there. Anyone else experienced this? That is not good when I am working with someone on a project in the office.

The protein in raw vegetable is particularly vital, as the protein in cooked foods gets damaged and large amount of it is rendered unrecognizable to the body. Do a search on google for vegetarian protein myths. Or search this website for the word protein, this question has been asked and answered many times. Hope this helps.

Hi Thomas, Thanks for your comments I have an Ibanez SG, a Washburn X Series strat, a Vintage Acoustic and an Ovation Electro Acoustic. I have a few stomp boxes and a Korg Multi FX Processor, don't remember the model number. I also have a Cello and a Piano. Luckily, I didn't get lost in the Bermuda Triangle when I was there last year. It is a beautiful place, but if you are gonna go, I do

I wouldn't exactly call the stuff on beyondveg.com evidence. I have been eating mostly Fruit for the past few months but like most I eat leafy greens because of the abundence of nutrients and chlorapyll.

My personal experience: I have never felt as properly hydrated as when I consume mostly raw fruits, my need for water consumption decreases and any water retention quickly resolved. I am glad you figured it out. I know too well having to run to the bathroom every hour because I am drinking tons of water and not feeling hydrated.

I had some olives stuffed with garlic last week, I didn't feel so good after that. I am going to aviod them. I hardly ever use any dried spices anymore and aviod most legumes, they just dont seem to do me any good. Personal experience only of course. I still eat olives occasionally, I won't pay for the raw kind. I will get off those too eventually. I try to look at food as fuel, like "

I am a Commercial Insurance Underwriter. I would prefer to make a living out of my playing music, but sadly it has not happened yet, I play 5 instruments: Guitar, Drums, Bass, Cello & Piano. I don't know if I would want to have a career in food of any kind.

I don't know anyone in outside of the internet who eats like me at all. I hardly know any vegetarian's, and I don't know any other vegans.

Another way to tell if you are very acidic, is water retention. If you are retaining water you are acidic because your body is attempting to neturalize the acidity.

Where have you been reading that corn is toxic? I eat it occasionally, I actually prefer it raw, never did like the boiled stuff. I used cook it on the grill, but I don't grill anymore, lol. Mold, fungi on corn? Can't say I've ever noticed.

I would disagree since generally you would consume a lot more Fruit than seeds, even though the fruit bears seed, some fruits have been made seedless so this would further cause confusion. For anyone who is confused about Fruitarianism a good link is

I think I am with some of the other people in here, Green Smoothies were the greatest discovery of 2006 for me, I love them. My diet in 2007 has been very simple so far, a lot of mono fruit eating. I have some chickpeas I intend to sprout and turn into raw hummus real soon though.

Generally it is difficult to drink too much water unless you are forcing it down willingly and drown yourself. There is a condition called Water Toxaemia but it is generally only bought on by things like participating in long endurance sports or being exposed to a hot environment for a long period of time and then drinking an overabundance of water too quicky, because your body loses large am

I guess after reading the article Rethinking & Clarifying the B12 Issue that Bryan posted it answers a lot of my question above. In the other article from veganhealth.org it does not appear to refer to any Raw vegans. Since cooked food and processed food is handled more by the small intestine, it seems that vegans who follow a completely or high percentage cooked diet may be more at risk

I prefer to use cucumbers to make noodles. When I made more of the raw recipes etc I just used a cheese slicer I had to slice strips of cucumber down to about a fettucini (maybe a bit bigger). I think I would get one of the better mre convenient blenders like the vitamix or magic bullet. My blender is just a standard one, my juicer hasn't really got a look in since I discovered the wonder of g
