Today was an easy day. I didn't have anything that had to be done and I already had a couple of smoothies in the Frig. Last Sat I made cheezy kale crackers, corn bread and sunburgers. I've been snacking all day. I like days like this.

I needed to go to the grocery store and a asked everyone if they put what they wanted on the list and if someone wanted to come with me to make the trip faster. Nope. they were busy, cool. Did they put what they wanted on the list? No. Just to let you know, list is on the counter for a week to jot down what you want. Great, I'm on my own All I had to do was hit the produce section. I was out of t

Smoothie for breakfast was a combo of the leftover smoothies. Tastes great, I just don't remember what is in it. Right now I'm eating the rest of the carrots from yesterday. Also, I'm eating spicy pistachios. Lemon water. For snack I brought lots of green grapes. Yum! The second smoothie I brought is 32 oz that I'll pull out later. 1/2 banana, because my son couldn't finish it, I told him

Hi Michelemm, I made Stuffed Mushrooms yesterday. This is quick, easy and if I want meat, it seems to fill the void. I try the recipe and if I like it I copy it in my spiral. I forgot were I got this one but I thank the creator. Here it is. Stuffed Mushrooms 1/3 pine nuts 3 cloves garlic minced 1/3 cup cilantro, packed leaves chopped 1/3 cup basil packed leaves chopped 1 Tbs Lemon juice

Sure, I don't follow any plan and that is the key for me. No 80/10/10 plan. I like to keep it very simple and the less I think about it the better. I'm what you would call Predominantly Raw. Like, if I want to eat out with my family, which doesn't happen very often, I will order what I want. And don't feel bad about it. That way I don't feel deprived. Next day smoothie for breakfast with a smile.

Welcome Keen You asked how some of us went to the Raw Lifestyle. Yes, to me it is a lifestyle and not a diet. Last year at this time I weighed 205 lbs and I was unable to drop the weight. I tried for years and it just kept creeping up. I'm 40+ and I was miserable. I went to a band clinic with my son, again last year at this time, and I felt tired, miserable and yes FAT. I was taking anti depress

Last year I found Yuri Elkeim who was a professional soccor player and now a fitness and nurition coach. I subscribed to his free e-course. Then for Christmas my husband bought me his Eating for Energy book. Great read! But Yuri goes into the protien needs of athletes that I think would help you. Just his free e-course 101 classes helped me.

Hey Rayshak! I hope you are having a great day! I fill that blender up,lol. I drink a 32 oz smoothie for breakfast at 10am and I usually finish it about 1pm. Then I pull out another 32 ozer and sip on that throughout the rest of the day. A lot of the time I can't finish the second one. Today I brought carrots and brussels sprouts that I cut up this morning along with cut up melon to snack on. Ton

Wow, they were way to big to even sinch up with the draw string. Out they go!! Today I'm drinking a smoothie with 4 apples, handfull of spinach, handfull of artichokes, 2 bananas 1tbs spirulina powder. 3c water. I'm almost done with it so I broug

Hi Rayshak, Raw Spirulina powder will provide you with protien and I also use Hemp seeds. Check out nutritiondata.self.com. It gives you a cool breakdown of carbs, fat and protien makeup of foods. Also, when I first started the raw lifestyle, I had aweful cravings for protien and I read Raw Food SOS online. I think you can punch that in and find it. Anyway, they suggested putting a raw egg in you

My family went to Wendy's today. Cheers to my green smoothie! The same people ask me how I'm losing so much weight. I fill them in gently, even bought them the book that got me started "Green For Life" and I get."I love bread too much" All I do is smile, but what I want to say is "And how is that working for you?" Bread was making me sick, cheese was making me sick,

I finished reading the book "Skinny Bitches" this morning. Very straight forward and eye opening. Today I'm starting "Emotional Vampires" Dealing with People Who Drain You Dry. By Albert J. Bernstein, PH.D. Why am I going to read this? Because to be healthy and happy I need to not take life so seriously. As I was once told, "Don't Sweat the Small Stuff" and how about

3 lbs and .5" is great. I've tried to quit coffee but when I try I feel sluggish and down all day. Then I give in and like you, I'm up and wired. I'm going to try veggie broth, that sounds good.

That is so cool that you play rugby! I mountain bike so my leg muscles are defined as well as my forearms. So, playing rugby, which is no sissy sport, and much more you will also get that effect. There is no way you will lose muscle mass because you are active. Your body is trying to get used to the raw lifestyle and when it kicks in, look out. Your BM will be regular HaHa, you make me laugh. How did your pot luck go? I've seen some juicing recipies that look really refreshing but I don't want to go out buy a juicer. I just throw the ingredients in the blender and go for it. I also like to throw in some ground flax seed which makes me feel fuller.

Don't you feel like getting rid of the scale sometimes, Rayshak? A lot of the time I don't think the number is a true indicator of health but how we truely feel.

You are doing awesome! The great thing about Raw/Vegan is you don't have to worry about calories, I don't think we eat enough sometimes. If you get really hungry, Nuts.com have some great nut and dried fruit snacks to get you through the rough times. Also Edenfoods.com is good. I order the Spicy Pumpkins by the case.

I had my Dr.s appt yesterday and 4 months ago my LDL was 114 and she was looking at cholesterol meds for me. Here's to Raw! My LDL was 96! It's great to hear your Dr. say, "My work here is done" My book of the month is Skinny Bitch by Rory Freedman and Kim Barouin. I bought it because a friend of mine at work said they will open your eyes. There are two very life changing chapters in

Thank you for this day. Starting out right with my vitamins and I'm still working on my green smoothie here at work. Thursday I have a Dr.s appt. She is keeping an eye on my cholesterol. Being raw for a year, I no longer need my Synthroid for a sluggish Thyroid and Pristique for depression. I don't want to take cholesterol meds. I've worked so hard for where I'm at. My starting weight was 205 and

Hi, I'm new to this forum and I'm looking for a community to help me stay on track. I've been Raw for a year now and lately I've been struggling. My family is very supportive and I've rubbed off a little on my husband with the smoothies. My hardest time is in the evening, example, they eat pizza and I have a raw dish with fruit on the side. Very hard.

I'm new to this forum, the book that changed my life is Green for Life by Victoria Boutinko. A friend let me borrow it and I've been hooked since. Right now I'm reading Eating for Energy by Yuri Elkaim. My husband got it for me. Great book and coach.
