See if any of the local universities have dental colleges. Dental college clinic costs are low and whoever works on your mouth will be getting a grade on both the teeth they repair and their "bedside manner".

Low blood pressure is a symptom of any of a multiple of different pathologies. It is not the disease itself but a symptom of a possible disease state. What works for one of us might not work for another. My suggestion is to do an in person consultation with a medical doctor for a diagnosis of what is actually going on. Consulting an MD does not mean you have to do what that dr. says y

_Ivy_ is a pretty generic term. Are you talking about Poison ivy, English ivy, Ground ivy, or what? Could you be a bit more specific? Perhaps, give us the botanical name for the plant you're referring to since many herbs share common names. I can think of instances where a plant might produce chemicals toxic to other plants to keep them from encroaching on their turf (Black Walnut trees come

Digestion problems on raw? What type of digestion problems? Belching? Abdominal pain? Constipation? Diarrhea? Bloody bowel movements? Flatulence? What? Fat binges? What are you saying constitutes a "fat binge"? (dit moi visualizing someone chugging a bottle of olive oil.) It helps to know what one is dealing with to zero on its etiology before blindly grasping for a remedy

There's a bed bug infestation thing going on. The speculation is that its a result of rapid international travel. The hotel trade has been hit hard by it and has been using lots more pesticides the past couple of years least customers take home unwanted hitch hikers in their bed clothing. There have been lawsuits.

I didn't. I only get gas when I eat something I have trouble digesting and the enzymes of raw food deal with that unless its something that also contains digestive enzyme inhibitors as well.

You think its the ritual of warm brownness and not the caffeine. There's yet another thing to consider, the taste of bitter. Bitter is probably the most common taste in nature but for many Americans the only bitter they ingest is when they drink coffee or very dark chocolate. Dandelion greens anyone?

My home rule is to not consume green smoothies if kept in the refrigerator more than 24 hours. Beyond that you might be dealing with a lot of bacteria growth. Keeping jars of green smoothie in a cooler is not as efficient as keeping them in a refrigerator. Out on a camping trip is not a convenient place to develop food poisoning.

I just got back from the produce store. There were tomatoes. I bought some not even thinking about the Salmonella scare. I'd spent the whole weekend at a banjo camp held at a small college in Michigan. They had fresh tomatoes in the campus cafeteria salad bar everyday I was there, I might add. Has it just been raw tomatoes in restaurants or what that are of question? The longer food sits

I like to keep some bottled enzymes around just in case I have to resort to cooked foods or if I've sustained a physical injury and I want to boost my enzymes for the healing process. I've found it doesn't matter on the brand as much as a balance of protease, amylase, and lipase. They say plant based enzymes tolerate stomach acid better. Read the label.

If you have digestion issues with a vegetable that you don't have digestion issues with if its steamed then your system probably needs a little more time to heal before you'll get full benefit from eating them raw. By that I mean things like, you just might have to re-educate yourself to chew your food properly or the lining of your stomach might need to regenerate enough that it produces en

You're welcome. If you are growing the Burdock for the roots, be prepared for them to want to grow deeply. One of my herb teachers has 100 acres of land, but she plants the Burdock above ground in bins that are designed for planting potatoes in. Basically its a sheet of plastic that you fill with soil (in her case, the first year she composts in it and plants the Burdock seeds after the

The hardware stores in my urban neighborhood all have a "canning" dept. later during the growing season. The bigger hardware stores have a "canning" dept. all year round. (Canning equipment in a hardware store? Yeah. Who knew!) I'd phone ahead to see if your local hardware store carries the white plastic lids. They might need to special order them though I've found that if

I phased out plastic food storage containers quite a while back, though I am experimenting with a few sprouters at the present. (I wanted to see how efficient they were before getting some to give my family as gifts.) I mostly use good old fashioned (but wide mouthed) canning (mason) jars. They're inexpensive. They come is an assortment of sizes. I can easily see what's in them. I b

Yeah, can't hurt. One of my Western anatomy/physiology teachers at an Asian bodywork therapy school tacked a manual lymph drainage session onto her A&P class when we were studying the lymphatic system. She spent an hour or so walking us, partnered with another student, through it so we could get a clearer picture of the system as a whole. As we did it and shortly afterwards, I've go

Twirling? What you're describing would create a mild gravitational pull towards the extremities (arms at least) which is the exact opposite of what you'd want to do. (Twirling does have a place in physical exercise though I think its more directed towards a physical manipulation of energy flowing through the Chakras.) The massage technique that is marketed as "manual lymph drainage"

If you have a medical reason to use an antibiotic, that is what you do. Once the infection is cured or risk of infection is past you can do the repair work of re-establishing intestinal flora. Some people take precautions while taking antibiotics by taking probiotics in the time space between antibiotic dosages. If you become more physically ill while using an antibiotic, inform your p

Before adding a nutritional supplementation it is wise to make sure you are offering your body optimum time to use the nutrition it already has available. One of the functions of your liver is to purify your blood. The liver is said to be most busy purifying blood while one sleeps. Some Traditional Chinese Medicine theorize that its best to be asleep between the hours of 11 PM and 3 AM. Bei

Its not unusual to think one's own experiences apply to everyone else, but they don't. We're all unique individuals. The original poster, a 24 year old, asked if it wouldn't be bad if he had an occasional drink once or twice a month while he was socializing and what would be the least harmful alcoholic beverage to drink when doing that. Depending on one's health and if age reflects consti
