I just finished sprouting a bunch of bean salad sprout mix from And we can taste a very strong and hot (in my opinion) radish taste. It overpowers the rest of the flavors. Any suggestions on how to tone down that taste? Thanks,

That would be a lot of watering of plants. I'm thinking along the lines of if I ever had to live on my water storage and had to minimize water usage, then the sprouts take way too much water and wondered how I could considerably reduce that. Especially using the easy sprouter, it takes a lot of water to fill it up over the sprouts to give it a rinse and then I have plants, but most of them are su

I have these wonderfully and largly growing weeds in my yard and I'm hoping they are wild edibles. But, even with all my pictures I can't seem to narrow down what they are. So, I took pictures and made a slideshow out of them. I can't seem to manage the speed of the slideshow, so you can click the image to get a still, larger view. Does anyone know what they are and if they are good to eat? When

When I sprouted my first set of sprouts this last week there was a LOT of water used to get those soaked 3x per day. That's fine for now, but I would like to know ahead of time how I may reduce that. Could I soak as usual, and then spread them out on a papertowel or newspaper over a cookie sheet and then spray them with a spray bottle maybe 6x per day instead? Would that work to reduce the wat

Yes... They were in the cup with holes. I just dumped the container into this bowl to help get out the "hulls"? and I saw this bunch of seeds inside that nothing had happened with. I did notice that the instruction for the seeds was 2 tbs for a quart size jar, and the sprouter is for 1 liter. But, according to a conversion chart online, that's about the same. Some of them look sprouted

I just finished my first batch of sprouts... It was a 5-part salad mix. It said to use 2 Tbsp, and I used the EasySprout container. I had a lot of seed left-over is this normal? Should I just use less next time or did I do something wrong? Thanks.

I would love to replace my store bought greens with my own sprouted foods and even wild edibles. It sounds like Maui_Butterfly has done that. What sprouts do you recommend for these... I, too am just starting out.

I am trying to figure out a way to preserve, or re-use the water that is used during the sprouting/rinsing process. I remember reading something about drinking that water because it has beneficial nutrients in it. That was a long time ago that I read it, years ago, when I was first contemplating sprouting. I just seem to see a lot of water going into the sprouting process that could be utiliz

I tried to grow some pea sprouts last week and I was dissappointed that they were bitter. I thought perhaps they were old sprouts, or that I did something wrong. Perhaps both were the case. I bought the sprouts at www.emergencyessentials.com about 5 years ago. They were sealed in mylar bags. I also forgot to cover the sprouts so they were always exposed to light. Something I learned today not to

How exciting. I just finished reading a book called God's Free Harvest... and it discussed Purslane. Has anyone read that book? I just finished typing up 41 pages of "cheat sheets" with photos, descriptions, locations to look, harvesting times and uses for the parts, that I will be using to forage in my yard and back woods come spring. I'm very excited about this.

Hi everyone. I'm new here and am eager to master the art of growing and eating sprouts. I have a few questions that I consider really basic, but are still stumping me... I have a sprouting chart that tells me how many hours to soak and how many days to harvest. For instance, a 3-part salad mix should be soaked 6-8 hours and harvest at 2-5 days. Well, my question is, how do i know exactly when
