A Super Angel is an excellent juicer for a raw vegan lifestyle. It does greens including wheatgrass very well. Root vegetables like carrots and beets are better processed in a single auger juicer but can be done in the Angel. I actually use two juicers: a super angel and slowstar at the same time. I do tandem juicing. Greens and pulp from the slowstar go into the angel. And root veggies go

BMW builds its motorcycles in China. Breville does it manufacturing in China. Where it is manufactured is not important. Who manufactures it and their quality control is!

At this time, I need to offer a broad based apology to the Board, particularly to Prana and John for some intermittent aggressive posts and language that was inappropriate. My apology is to the entire board given that anyone may see a prior post. I grow from my humility. And foregoing I plan to keep it short and sweet. You all are great folks. I have learned so much. I hope to repay the foru

Manta, In Raw and Simple Detox, Judita Wignall has given a homemade coconut milk recipe on page 72 of the book. 4 cups "very warm" water to two cups shredded coconut, soak for 30 minutes and blend for 1 minute. Strain through nutmilk bag. Add strained milk back with 1 T. lecithin granules and blend again. Shake before using. Use within 3 to 4 days. Judita's great. Paul

I think Omega's in general are hard to beat. 15 year warranties, constant upgrades. The old Omega 8004 for $259 is very hard to beat. I bet it's cheaper now. For a raw living food lifestyle, leafy greens are paramount. Don't generally want to juice fruits. The VSJ 843 is certainly an excellent juicer, but so is the Omega NC 800, Tribest Slowstar and Greenstar Elite. Super Angel 5500.

fat is definitely a factor in diabetes, no question. It's chewy gum in the insulin lock of putting fat into cells. Saturated fat, long chain saturated like palmetic and stearic acid and myristic acid, not the lauric acid that predominates coconut oil. Bottom line, Panchito is right. Dr. Greger is right. Why would anyone on a raw vegan forum be eating an animal saturated fat? IOW I do

I own a Super Angel 5500 that I have had for several years. Bought it from Harvest Essentials. com for around $1000. Metal shavings would indicate a defect covered under warranty. And you just inspect the gear and file your warranty claim. If it isn't fear mongering, they will give you new augers at their expense. End of problem. I have worked with US juicers and had no customer service

I would just say to each their own. Weigh the tradeoffs of materials, risk and juice yield as well as clean up time, and make your call. So comparatively, stainless steel is less reactive and less likely to leach than other materials made into augers or gears for juicer, certainly melanine and ultem. More importantly nickel and chromium metal are benign. They can't hurt you. There are versio

To each their own. Norwalks have had issues with being able to process leafy greens. Truth is whether its a Green Star Elite or a Super Angel, a twin gear juicer is better able to get a higher yield for leafy greens. A press is designed for a high water content vegetable. For something like a leafy green, you need a twin gear or horizontal single auger juicer, in my opinion. I really l

Sue, The description of the Waring MX1200XTS says :"With its 3 1/2 horsepower, the Waring MX blender is great for blending everything from food to bar drinks! Learn how to make a great strawberry-banana smoothie with the Waring MX blender." Here is a picture of the blade assembly:

Sue, My understanding from reading the Amazon comments on the container is that the Vitamix tamper won't work on the Waring container because it is shorter. IOW, the tamper would go all the way down to the Waring Blade assembly. Still there are other options that might work Waring Tamper It's a commercial blender, so beyond that I don't know anything specific about the blade assembly.

I'm not being critical of a stainless steel carafe Sue. I'm pointing out that any material could pose risks. But we select what we prefer based on what we know. I view the idea that the copolymer is estrogenic is unsubstantiated. I was merely making an analogy that you could make similar unsubstantiated statements to other materials. That's all.

You can't assume just because Eastman quoted a 3rd party lab that they funded it. The other thing is that there methodological problems with the way the Certichem conducts its analysis of estrogenic effect. Chemjobber Is Tritan estrogenic? The MCF-7 assay is questionable at best. Both Certichem and Plastipure are founded by the same guy, makes question the legitimacy of the dual claims

Actually, for Triton Copolymer, third party testing has shown it is not estrogenic. http://www.chem.info/news/2010/05/new-third-party-test-results-confirm-eastman-tritan-copolyester-free-bisphenol-and-estrogenic-activity

If I were buying a press today, I'd go with a Gerson approved stainless steel model. Myjuicebuddy has an electronic model now. Juice press factory is close to Welles Press prices, but it's stainless steel. Anyway, I bought the my juice press. Works well, but tandem juicing in a twin gear is better. Just feed the pulp from a single auger or centrifugal into a twin gear. Self feeding.

I tried twice (I'm the originator of this thread) and it didn't performed as I expected. I'm sure it was my lack of skill rather than the device. But if a device requires that much skill, I can't use it.

To the contrary John, those diseases were not well controlled and were based on data major public health problems. Vaccines controlled them. And if viruses were a myth, couldn't have happened. That simple. Anyway, agree to disagree. Paul

John, I think you and I are just looking at the evidence differently. The disease in my pictoral hadn't gone away before vaccines as you suggest. They were major public health threats that vaccines have eliminated or significantly reduced. Paul
