Don't worry about it. Use something like fitday.com or nutridiary.com and show your mom that you are getting everything you need. With all those greens, the only thing you are likely to be low in is vit D (sun or supplement), B-12 (can take a pill, takes awhile to develop deficiency anyway), and zinc (and we may need less than they think anyway). The calcium recommendation is also probably ove

From what I have heard, it's more like leaving on an incandescent. I would focus more on things like not using cars or planes, the amount of energy they use makes a dehydrator look like nothing.

If your body is healthy, being exposed to that sort of mild pathogen will make you stronger, not weaker. Sterile is not normal, and anyway, it's when you're worn down that you're vulnerable. I would relax and not worry. If you do get sick, look at it as an opportunity to relax and take care of yourself. The stress of worrying about it is probably more damaging.

If eating over 400 calories makes you gain weight, I would assume your body knows what it's doing and you need to weigh more than your mind wants you to.

I have had raw olives from raw companies and thought they were really great--both salted and unsalted. They do taste--raw, uncooked.

What is the deal with SpectraCell analysis? Is is considered legit by most doctors? Not that I trust doctors a ton, but nor do I trust all alternative methods of diagnosis.

So I have some cavities I haven't gotten filled--yes, I should have, but I didn't make the appointment and now it won't happen for a few months because I have travel plans I can't cancel, plus I won't have insurance for a few months. So, now my fillings are starting to bug me a bit--is there anything I can do while I wait, anything to temporarily delay the decay? I feel really stupid here. I woul

I liked it from day 1, when I was probably eating a fairly lousy veg diet--if you don't like it, don't sweat it. There are plenty of healthy things out there you do like, so enjoy those. With other things, I would imagine it would be gross. Shots are best IMO.

there are many ideas if you do a search. Seeds and avocado are good because they need fat.

I am with Utopian Life--even with very high nutrients, you need calories, especially when active. I was around 1300 and it totally snowballed. My body felt like it was starving and it led to uncontrollable bingeing after a few months of that. Go by your body's signals since daily needs do vary.

I think they are separate issues. If people have abuse issues, they will still have them, no matter the diet. The issues just have to be faced, and some people just can't have alcohol.

I have seen anemic children with serious anemia, that would have been stunted for life had they not gotten their iron up quickly with supplements (as it is, children with low iron never quite catch up to their peers--not that growth is always an indicator of health, but I think in this case it says something). Western medicine is horrible for preventing diseases or helping chronic diseases, but i

I wouldn't normally go through a downtown barefoot--but my shoes were really cutting into me and the pain was awful. It's nice to know I *can* if I need to!

I have actually walked through a downtown shoeless (my flip flops were cutting into me!). Even after wearing shoes outside of the house all winter, my feet were still smart enough to sense any dangerous objects, and tough enough that glass most likely wouldn't cut them. Feet are great! Just practice walking around barefoot in safe places and they will gain both sensitivity and toughness.

I concede that soils may still be low in some nutrients--selenium is another one. But I have to quibble over a definition: Calcium Magnesium Nitrogen Phosphorus Potassium Sulfur are NOT macronutrients. Macronutrients are carbohydrate, proteins (amino acids), and lipids--that is, calorie-containing molecules. The above listed are not macronutrients by definition. You can find thi

I love lightly steamed veggies--there's no reason to stop eating them, unless you can see it will be better for your health. If not, I don't think you need to do it for the sake of a label (100% raw). But I do know some raw foodists don't eat raw cruciferous for that reason, or massage and marinate things like kale.

Really? In the last seven years, where I live, one new co-op opened, but another one closed Most of the co-ops where I live started in the seventies. There actually used to be a lot more but many of them closed die to financial problems. I am glad to hear they are becoming widespread, though. I love co-ops. Good luck with your move.

Makes sense to me. I also canNOT digest large amounts of food, I end up horribly bloated and gassy, so that has led me to eating this way more--but not mindlessly snacking, either, which is an easy trap to fall into.

You know, I ultitmately believe that giving the body time to digest food and be empty for a while (mini-fasting) is best, but I can totally see how grazing would be helpful in coming off of binging--you get used to never being too full, and reassure the body that food is always there and no need to panic. I am actually using this approach somewhat--grazing for a few hours, taking a break from foo

Pretty much every place I have traveled to has had a co-op--small town in northern MN, a small town in Iowa, Bozeman, MT, Arcata, CA, (the latter two were impressively huge, and these are not big towns) etc--and I currently live within a few miles of several. But yeah, I haven't traveled to any real conservative places ever. If you ever get that chance to move, I vote for near a coop--they do
