I think its possible that they are dehydrated or something, for transportation/storage purposes. If not, then what are they for in nature? If they're rock hard on the plant then what animal eats them off the plant?

Um, there is a definitive answer. Dissect a colon and see if there is "compacted waste" there or not. Its yes or no, and so far it seems like no is the winner. There might be some other bad things in there, but not tons and tons of it... Now, I agree to see for youself if it makes you feel "good", however the reason could be something other than what is popularly claimed

I heard that raw coffee beans are toxic and require cooking in order to consume, similar to red kidney beans. Has anyone had raw coffee beans before and been ok?

P.S. Check out this article: Among the most interesting arguments it makes is that caffine amplifies the effects of stress, which I think many would confirm.

I don't knock it or those who drink it. However, it does contain a lot of caffine which is a stimulant, and addictive. It also cannot be consumed in large quanities no matter how sensitive your body is to it. I personally used to drink one or two pots of coffee per day. I got to the point where I would drink a cup before I went to bed. Then, I gave it up after school was over. Shortly after

I am going to take a sophisticated guess: Heating speeds up molecules. With molecules traveling at a high enough velocity, the force of inertia overcomes the strength of the molecular bonds, thus molecules seperate / re-structure. When the molecular structure changes and certain things die. Freezing slows down molecules. There are no forces working against the molecular bonds. No bonds

Hi morgenjune, I'm going into the Navy (US) in a couple years and don't know if I could do 100% raw given the duration of sea time and lack of food storage space, but I plan to remain vegan and at least 75% raw. Good job!

Yes I must agree. You might be able to find some good things about coffee, but that doesn't nearly outweigh all of the bad things. Its like, even some poisons have a lot of antioxidents, that doens't mean you eat them for the antioxidents.

you think that's bad? check out this website I don't know which is more sad, that they allow kids to eat there or that they allow the obese to eat for free...

Here. I am not sure, you could perhaps eat at Noon and 5pm. Paul Nison advocates eating 2 meals a day if possible, which I do a lot of the time. I have to say, doing this makes me feel great. It is harder psychologically though. However I don't think of the Daylight Diet as a diet, its just a concept. "Don't eat after sunset because your metabolism as slowed down" pretty much su

Well, I'm sure one feels good afterwards - I have heard many testimonies of this. However, I am wondering if this good feeling is due to 1) being cleansed and having old waste removed, or 2) stimulation from the process, and simply having waste removed that was on its way out anyway

I agree - don't change it up too much, too quickly. I do the daylight diet, and yeah I feel way better in the morning if I do this. Just try not to make too many changes at once or else your system is gonna freak out. Plus, just be happy where you're at, enjoy it - you can always improve, there's no big rush P.S. your openness and convictions are motivating!

I here two opposites about colonics: 1) They clean out compacted waste that is potentially years old. This allows the digestive system to work much better. They can aid in healing and general cleansing, and you feel amazing afterward with more energy and vitality. 2) They are a hoax. Nothing sticks to the inside of the colon, its just a matter of time before it is all passed through.

In order to eat a better breakfast, don't eat late at night, especially right before going to bed. Not only will this help you sleep better, but you'll be hungrier in the morning and be able to start your day with a good breakfast! Don't worry, it'll work out. If my gf can make it work, so can you. She living off 50 cent mac and cheese boxes before, lol. Your budget will adapt, and once yo

She runs maybe twice per week. I'm going to try to help her do some other strength training as well. Also, I agree about eating less but its not a 100% shot, and right now she is convinced she needs to try and eat more. I think either one is possible

My girlfriend is trying to gain weight, and I am encouraging her to do it through raw foods / high raw. Does anyone have experiance with this? She is 100 pounds, and maybe... 5'4"? Anyway, she is visibly really skinny and has told by doctors that her weight is "dangerous", and besides that she is not comfortable weight what she does and would like to weigh more. She used to e

P.S. The most expesive things are nuts, dried fruit, and fancy condiments, so if you stay away from these things (which you should be doing anyway), your food bill will not be too bad!

I can only address the cost. $75 per month seems crazy low to me. My girlfriend used to have a really low food budget, and she ate reaaaaaly low quality food. I'm glad you are making changes! Good job! I personally spend ~$50 per week so $200 per month. And that is gracious, with making an occasional fancy gourmet raw recipe. This is lower than most people I talk to. It includes a good

I agree, however any living thing can be deficient. If you don't have the bacteria to produce the product, you don't have the product. So there are actually a few complications to consider. I believe we have the potential to regain that simplicity though, by healing.

One reason I've written about here: For B-12, consider that chimpanzees are mostly vegan as well. They only eat meat in cases of famine. So, that leaves three possibilities for their sources (assuming that their rare bouts of meat-eating isn't the source): 1) organisms in the soil on their food 2) insects on their food eaten unintentially or intentially 3) the possibility that they can
