I am Greek Orthodox. I find that most of the raw food life goes in harmony with long fasting which is an old tradition of my church. Also, messages of the New Testament are much more clear if we are connected to nature in the right way. Some of the tradition promotes natural living, spiritual and not materialistic view of life. Most of the Orthodox Christians come from farming communities which u

The greens I like come from the sea, I am never fatigued after eating them. Everything from the sea is good for you.

But, if I raise my hand...I have to stop talking about all the bad stuff in the world? What will I talk about? I am so hooked to following what the enemy does. I need some of the bad news...gimme some, please.

la_veronique - I have to correct myself, after second reading. Your poetry is really, realy good. Not just nice. Thanks! Tamukha, thanks! I really appreciate good words from you as I have a lot of respect for you. A lot of people here have, let me use the old expression, 'good vibes'.

la_veronique, very nice poetry ...still, trees are fighters too. They fight for sunlight, for soil. They fight insects and animals. Trees are really tough. When you cut a tree, chances are you are cutting a hero.

I notice that the ideal of most of the raw foodists is to live peacefully. Nothing wrong with that. We all (or most of us) want peaceful living. But, even that 'peaceful' life is full of struggles and, yes, a lot of fight. Would you fight for the girl/man you love? Most of the people would answer 'yes'. Under certain circustances, most of the men on this forum would use firearms to defend or even

Then I must be a superman - I often eat too many dates (just can't stop, as long as they are there, I am eating them...more than two pounds at times).

This forum is an endless source of inspiration. The problem is - I always learn something new here, and then I have to do it...and it makes me feel like "why haven't I already been eating coconuts"? I bought one or two here and there...never knowing that they were a powerhouse. I don't even know how to eat them. I have seen them (they looked young but I can't tell really) in the local m

Well, I personally like positive activism rather then negative. Meaning, it is better to promote permaculture than to fight against Monsanto. It is even better to lead by example. But, a lot of people find that it is necessary to fight the legal battle against Monsanto and the likes, too. Those people are in the group that may get 'special' treatment from the government agencies.

We still live in good times. We can still refuse some things, but it is not the same as it was twenty years ago. Things are changing quickly. Unfortunatelly, it will not be possible for us to just live our way and expect the government to let us do it. It is important to notice the changes in laws and policies (and they are drastic) in order to prepare. What to do? I don't know, but the t

Thanks for your tips! I think I resolved the mistery. I never had alergies but I was always senisitive to fine dust. Not the normal outdoor dust (I have played outdoors a lot as a child, dust was never a problem, on the contrary it was fun), but the fine dust like in attics and other hidden places. I would feel slight choking from it. I think that the air conditioner had layers of this dust , I i

banana who, the filter was dirty indeed and the air conditioner needs thorough cleaning. I will let the landlord know. It could be very well the reason for my cold. I will look for echinacea seeds. Herbs are a very interesting area.

I never had allergies in my life. It does feel like a cold, because I start sneezing when I turn on the air conditioner. I feel a little better today, I took a long walk in the forest yesterday, that could have helped, I hope.

167. Echinacea
Where to purchase good Echinacea? I have recently travelled to Europe and after coming back to USA, I have this unusal cold which would not go away. I don't have fever, just congested and sneezing. A close person suggested Echinacea, but I have read at the link below that not every product with that label is a good one.

I got some organic cold pressed coconut oil and it tastes fine to me. More than fine, actually. It only becomes greasy, so I am told, at the temperatures below 76F. I have no problem with taking several tea spoons of coconut oil a day I actually enjoy it. I am not good with making salads, but I imagine I would love a salad with the taste of coconut oil. Eating young coconuts is not an option in

I have a problem with gum desease and I will need implants. Instead of using medications prescribed by dentists, is there a natural alternative? Also, is there any kind of alternative to implants that is more acceptable from a healthy living point of view?

They protect the majority from 'organic thinking'. They keep the organic population to a minimum. If you don't try to make millions of people aware of advantages of eating healthy, nobody will bother you. If the organic group becomes too large, they will use propaganda like this to minimize the damage. I actually accepted this 'minority' status for good. Very intelligent friends of mine can't

My bad experience - fruit if perfectly fine for healthy teeth, but for those that miss the enamel (or however you call the protective layer on healthy teeth) fruit is devastating. One needs to flush with water often, after eating fruit. Just my opinion anyway.

Thanks a lot. I will try to go with the pat down, just don't know who to tell what my choice is and when. I have read that once you are in line for the scan you can't get out any more. What is causing the radiation during the flight, the plane itself or high altitude? Also, please recomend a store where to get those mushrooms and oral harmine, I will follow your advice.

The point is not to 'stop eating', if I understand them well. The point is to get the food from other source. There are hundreds of thousands of people who practice 'Sun gazing' and only a few stopped eating. I believe that 'Sun gazing' is healthy, good habit. I also believe that, in order to stop eating food, one has to have a very, very balanced life, be in total harmony with the nature...etc.

I need to travel soon, I am not sure what to do with the airport scan. I hate x-rays but the alternative can be brutal. Flying on a plane is not healthy either, they say. Any thoughts to help me make up my mind?
