I am not sure what to Make of Durian Rider eating pizza. I thought for sure he was promoting a raw vegan diet, with lots and lots of fruit, especially bananas. My mind it blown. So, Is it really possible to be raw vegan long term? Is this something which is held up as an ideal that nobody can really live up to? I was so surprised, pizza? and it looked like a white crust, shortening filled crust a

Coconut cream The problem is that there are so many incentives to have children. There are social expectations, there are tax breaks, subsidies, welfare etc, factors which promote having more children than perhaps there would be without this artificial promotion.

CSR, Maybe its time for her to learn some new ways. You still don't have to eat the cake. I am sure it will 'hurt' the first time you decline, but it least it won't hurt you physically. Just say you believe in a different paradigm of living. Someone at work gave me that sad eyed, 'I'm Hurt' look over what I eat and don't. What a projection. Why should I protect her from information which cou

I just planted some miners lettuce seed this evening. I didn't know that I would do that. I added some more soil to a pot and put them in, rather spontaneously. When I lived in California I had a little planter of them, and they always came up in the winter and early spring. I look such great care of them, mostly by providing them with plenty of fruit peels and minerals. They came up so dark gree

Hello life1o1, I started my purslane plants from seed. I just filled a used container from a date box or something. I know its plastic, but money is kind of an issue, and I don't think there are any small rectangular pots available in town. I filled it with sand and some rocks that I know have special minerals in them. I also put residual herbal tea bags and mixed it into the sand and wate

Raw4ever, I read an article in the National Geographic about traditional diets around the world. The article seemed to go back and forth on a number of issues. It made some statements that seemed to really support a plant based diet, then sort of went backward and seemed to imply that some small amount was ok or perhaps needed. The article specifically did NOT support a raw foods diet, they

Life 101, today I found out that Hibiscus tea is an extremely good source of Iron. Some people eat the whole dried leaf, and I am sure fresh flowers are probably really good. In case one is worried about tea being cooked.

My mother took (takes?) that stuff, actually like 1 gram a day. I don't know how she did it. My partners mother takes it on recommendation of her daughter who is a conventional nutritionist. Well, it has NOT helped her fractured bone to heal, and the list of Superjuices side effects link is not promising either.

I don't know the percentage of cooked foods I ate, but its probably way too much. Its enough for me to maintain vegan and unprocessed foods. I moved to a western town, and there is literally NO vegetarian resturant here. Actually, not even a vegan friendly resturant. Some places are actually vegan HOSTILE! I haven't used that as an excuse. I am still vegan. I am slowly going more and more raw, s

I got my test results back. I am a bit confused, because the clinic says that my B12 blood levels are low. However, looking up info on line, I am well within the acceptable range according to some sources. I am NOT anemic so that is a plus, and my hemoglobin is good. In fact I think the blood cell count and hemoglobin is probably better than many meat eaters. The Doc says my cholestrol profile is

Panchito, Bacteria produce hydroxocobalamin. The cyano form of B12 is modified. Its like saying that regular Skippy peanut butter is natural because there are real peanuts in the spread, failing to mention that sugar and hydrogenated oils are added. Or Calling shortening natural because they started with real soybean oil, which was chemically modified. Sure, the original source of the oil is nat

Panchito, That is a great idea. There is a problem to overcome, the plant is looking for light as a source of energy. Maybe there are other qualities perhaps to light that a plant might find significant, but since I am not a plant I am not sure what those might be. It would be like two people trying to communicate using taste. Or say trying to communicate with your dog using flavor. How wou

Panchito, Thats very suspect. I understood the cyano form to be produced in a Lab. Its very cheap, and inferior. Although technically it might be able to supply useable b12 indirectly, although its not in the best form. Consider the following from the Linus Pauling Institute. " The form of cobalamin used in most nutritional supplements and fortified foods, cyanocobalamin, is readily

Oh gag! Well, that was a reminder of the past I guess. Although I don't recall eating anything so extremely obviously contaminated. There is something that I wonder. Why is there such a history of animal consumption? Why is it still upheld as such a great thing? Everyone at work gets excited about getting a burger, or some other animal product. All day at Work I heard a repeating add about anyone

Someone suggested to me that I need a DEXA study. (Dual-energy X-ray absorptiometry) Because I don't consume dairy, and therefore must have a problem with my bones. Today, this same person said I worry too much about things, and need to eat some meat. This after giving her some roasted dandelion tea, which I made and brought to her. How is that for a thank you? I feel irritated by that now,

There is so much ignorance concerning natural vs. unnatural. The article seems to want to discredit Veganism. However, as everyone points out, there is healthy and unhealthy veganism. Its not fair comparing the two. Especially NOT choosing unhealthy vegan to represent all of veganism.

Wow, that looks very tasty. However, I can't imagine it tasting like french fries. Which is fine by me, I never saw the appeal, even when I eat a standard american diet.

That explanation doesn't fully deconstruct fear and control of the population. One could still accumulate toxins from sources other than a vaccine. The 'contagion' is not viral but chemical, which would still result in fear and aversion of people manifesting a disease of some sort, and placing them in quarantine. Someone with a cold could in theory also spread toxins that are making them sick

That is interesting. I started a new job about 5 mos ago. I noticed that almost everyone has become sick at least once in this time, some people twice, and one person three times. Except for me! maybe I am next, but I hope not. I dont even know the percentage of raw food I am eating, but it seems like a lot, but everything is vegan. The one that is the sickest has asked me 'where do you get your

Prana, I am a bit skeptical, ghost moths have become infected for thousands of years with cordyceps. I don't see how anyone can accuse ghost moth larvae of living an unnatural lifestyle. They don't have access to the same type of poison and toxins that AIDS patients might have been exposed to, and the result is that their entire body becomes consumed, leaving behind a larvae shaped cordyceps.
