The room is no longer presently available; however an opportunity might open up. What are you looking for? Demographics here are mixed & population diverse. Ft Lauderdale is not the wild, crazy town it once was. You still get an influx of college kids during school breaks but it's pretty tame. Mainstream folks like the nightlife here as well as the restaurants so you will find a lot of th

I'm a longtime raw vegan with a lovely house to share long or short term in Ft Lauderdale. Furnished, large backyard for organic garden. Quiet, residential neighborhood yet close to downtown, farmers markets, Whole Foods, Fresh Market, beach, parks. With winter approaching, it would be the ideal respite from the cold. Send me your email address for more info. Best, Rawne

Would love to meet up with someone who is interested in splitting the gas to Josh's in Hollywood on Sundays. His produce is incomparable. You would need to do the driving & provide the vehicle. rawne

WY, Consumed occasionally & in minute quantities, I think nuts/seeds can have a useful place in the human diet. In nature, there are nuts/seeds we are able to crack open without the use of extraneous tools. rawne

You might want to try urine. Others with advanced gum disease have reported excellent results from using it in lieu of toothpaste, also holding it inside the mouth & swishing it around ideally for thirty minutes but at a minium, ten minutes. You might also want to consider drinking urine. rawne

1. Can anyone identify the black fruit for me? It's growing on hedges in south Florida & is rather bland & dry & white inside (see the one I bit into). 2. Why is there an extra digit before the 9 on the PLU code of the cantaloupe? I bought it at Whole Foods. I was unable to find the answer from Google. rawne

Grind the seeds until they form a paste, place it in a small bowl & then add the lemon juice. After preparing it a number of times, you'll get to know the consistency you like it & will adjust the juice accordingly. To clean, I wipe it with a damp paper towel. Don't immerse the grinder although you can immerse the plastic cap. Ground up nuts such as almonds or walnuts make a nice dres

I grind up seeds & add fresh lemon juice & use it as a dip for greens. I love it; however, although I've tried grinding individual seeds & adding the lemon juice to them, they don't taste very good, sesame seeds being the exception. The way around it is to combine a seed such as hemp, sunflower, pumpkin, flax with sesame seeds, in roughly a 1:3 ratio respectively. Of course, it's a

Rawlion, I tried your suggestion & watered 4x/day as I'm in warm, humid south Florida & it worked like a charm! I'm so grateful for your response as I was reluctantly going to give up on the terra cotta. rawne

Duke, The one-hundred-nine year old's ethnicity is a key factor in his youthful appearance. I recently knew an eighty-six year old woman with a similar ethnicity who had an age defying, unlined face. Dark-skinned individuals have more melanin which offers the skin sun damage protection. rawne

Can you direct me to a video that will demonstrate how to successfully grow broccoli sprouts in terra cotta pots? I've had to dispose of four batches after four unsuccessful attempts. The same seeds sprouted in a glass mason jar although not as well as other seeds. I prefer using terra cotta because I got to sample a small amount and the taste superiority between the former and glass is marked.

Rawlion, Do you specifically do broccoli sprouts in terra cotta? I tried rinsing them in the am & pm, & they became moldy. Then I went back over the instructions that came with the sprouter & it said to rinse them only after soaking the seeds. Tried that, never watering them again & they barely sprouted & I had to dispose of them too. Thanks for your response. rawne

Anyone know of any? I'm looking to contact the grower... I don't want to deal with any distributors as I need to hear from the horses mouth that the nuts are truly raw. Walnuts & pistachios would be my preference but would consider others. THANKS!

Thank you all for your responses. I was really looking for some properly combined, raw ideas but I still passed some of the info along to my sister.

I told my sister I'd post an inquiry on a discussion forum for her in search of a nice ground flax seed recipe. She won't do smoothies nor would she try my old recipe of combined flax & sesame & the juice of fresh lemon. She's agreed to heed proper food combining principles but I can't come up with anything she might find palatable, much less enjoyable. I'm thinking a salad dressing or so

I appreciate your response. My sister doesn't own a dehydrator nor do I think she'd want to fuss with crackers but since she did mention the fact that she enjoys baking last time we spoke, perhaps I'll mention the cracker idea.

I'm considering a move to Ithaca. Does anyone here personally know whether the organic produce availability in Ithaca would suit a raw foodist who values a wide selection of fresh, organic greens & fruit? I know of the GreenStar co-op, which carries both organic & conventional but I've never visited & don't know how large their selection is. I've tried to find other sources in the

Tamukha, Thanks for your input. I've heard of the established link between dairy & breast cancer. Don't know for a fact that she consumes dairy although I have a vague recollection of her at one time mentioning she eats yoghurt. I was not referring to dietary modifications when I said she is adamant about wishing to go with the medical protocol. Her tumor is growing & at this point

Sadly, my friend was just informed that, at a minimum, she has stage 1 breast cancer & has emphatically told me she is not interested in alternative treatment. She will learn next week whether the cancer has metastasized. If not, she will be receiving radiation & a lumpectomy.

Can anyone direct me to some material that cogently explains the relationship between lifestyle, specifically diet, and the risk of cancer, specifically breast cancer? A friend of mine discovered a large lump in her breast & her doctor, after performing an ultrasound, told her malignancy is highly suggested. She'll be having a biopsy tomorrow. She's lost her thyroid gland to a benign tumor
