You could probably cut that amount in half and not lose much flavour. I just make them the way the kids like them.

This is exactly why we've decided to boycott anything with corn and/or soy. Wouldn't it be a kick in the pants to discover, after all the paranoia and hate, that the anti-christ is not a single human, but a corporation bent on destroying the human race?

So many questions! I don't know where Forks Over Knives is available - Husband found it online upon my request. One of my kids (three years) had a rough start being raw, but after a couple of days she got hungry enough to eat whatever I put in front of her. The other one (seven years and autistic) was born with a healthy appetite for veggies and didn't notice a difference in her diet. Both

My kids are addicted to these! I can see it's quite a flavour trend, so instead of buying expensive ready made kale chips, I made my own recipe! Cheesy Chipotle Kale Chips Take one large or two small bunches of kale (organic!) and rip into bite sized pieces, no stems please. Wash well and spin dry. Place in very large bowl. Cover with dressing and massage gently to coat pieces evenly. Then

My Vita-Mix dealer made a joke out of my marriage; "So, a raw vegan and a hunter get married..." After watching Forks Over Knives, and Food Inc, my husbands's first response was, "Raw vegan, eh?" Now, as a family, we have cleaned out the kitchen, converted the whole family to raw vegan, and are living a new level of health and environmental awareness. Is that not the

Maybe you'd have to be raised this way for it to be normal. I've known since I was little that my dad used to chew up sunflower seeds for me to eat when I was a baby. I also chewed certain foods for my own children. My oldest needed more chewing than most kids (she's developmentally delayed). My youngest? After her initial introduction to solid foods at 5 months (green smoothies and avocado/banan

It's been a while since you posted this, so I hope you get this reply. I used to be addicted to cheese, too. My favorite was Brie. I don't eat any cheese at all these days. To answer your questions in very short form; dairy should be avoided because it is the most highly mucous-causing substance on the planet. It is difficult to breathe, hear, digest, and detoxify with a coating of goo on y

This is very well done and extremely catchy. Kudos to all of the strong, vegan men who stand up for health (without the use of half-nekkid females to sell it)!

I love Brussels sprouts, too! I'll try this recipe when I can finally buy a dehydrator that won't cook my food. Here's mine: Make dressing out of 1 tbsp ACV, 1 tsp dijon, sea salt & pepper to taste, 3 tbsp EVOO. If you whisk in the oil slowly after mixing the other ingredients, it should emulsify because of the mustard. I've also had good results using freshly ground mustard (instead of

I'm here to confess, but not to a sin. I eat meat once a month. My husband is extremely supportive of my raw veganism - he juices for me, and he's learning how to chop veggies (he's become quite ninja with an ulu). But my husband very strongly feels that there are certain nutrients that can only be had through ingesting heme. Rather than argue, and to maintain a good relationship - we bu

My husband has guttate psoriasis. He has been experimenting to treat it because it covers 85% of his body. So far he has had success with cutting out eggs (not an issue if you're raw, right?) Also, his psoriasis improves with phototherapy (like sunbathing), and lately he's had success by shaving his entire body. His theory is that the toxins in his hair are irritating his skin. Shaving his

When I was in high school my mom went on a kombucha kick...I remember her making tea every couple of days, dealing with this huge mushroom, spending a fortune on honey! But I never lost the taste for it....even long after she gave it up as just another health fad. So now I'd love to make it for myself, but how? Do I need a starter mushroom like she had gotten? Is there a (cheap) simple recipe?

I gotta say, I don't really understand the menstrual issues on raw. I've been raw off and on for over three years... My longest stint with raw was nine months - and at the end of it my new husband forced me to start eating cooked again because I had just become pregnant! (He's a bit paranoid about trusting my instincts.) Eating such high nutrition increased my fertility, and I got through my best

My maiden journey with my Sprout Master was half a tray alfalfa, half chia. I basically covered the damp bottom of the tray with seeds, misted them three times a day and then ate some very lovely alfalfa sprouts. The chia did not sprout so well. Maybe half a dozen sprouts came up around the time I was harvesting alfalfa. What can I do to improve the growth of my chia? I don't care to eat just

I'd like to actually eat seaweed because I hear it's great for making strong, shiny hair (and I have thin, frizzy hair). But how do you make it taste good? I can't stand the stuff.... Nori wraps? Eeew!

My relationship with my husband is one that my friendly Vita-mix dealer calls the start of a good joke: "So, a raw vegan and a hunter get married...." And it works. And we have children. We respect each other, and we are bestest friends in the world. Because our relationship is not based on food. Neither is our self-esteem. I prepare raw food and I also cook meals for him and

When I first went raw a few years ago, I had some friends over from work and put out a huge plate of finger veggies....including sweet potatoes cut like french fries. The one lady said that she'd never liked carrot sticks before and wanted to know what I'd done differently. She was shocked when she found that she'd been eating raw sweet potato! She'll never look at the produce section the same.

If you need a cheap, organic way to keep deer out of your garden, go no further than your local barbershop! Deer hate the smell of human hair, so if you use hair like you would use mulch the deer will take a sniff and run away. This has worked for us for years. Also, be sure to reapply after rain or strong wind.

I've always eaten them. They have lots of fibre and add a different dimension of texture to your bite. From my understanding you can eat most parts of all fruits. I even put the greens from the top of the strawberries in my green smoothie this morning.

It is actually a flat rate...it just so happens that the amount is the same as my rent. And they are studying both products simultaneously. It's kind of a symbiotic arrangement. However, since I found out that only one month of the test is free, and the second month will cost you upwards of $300, I declined.

There is a weight loss study in my hometown that pays me one month rent to lose weight. I want to participate, but it is a trial study of a couple of products: Absolute Acai Berry and New Life Cleanse. Is ti ok to take these natural products while on raw? Is there a contraindiction? They do not care that I am on raw while doing the study (because it'll make their product look that much better).

I know for sure that it's a candida issue - my naturopath told me so years ago, but I ignored his warnings. Now I'm starting to get yeast infections as well as evidence that I have intestinal over-population. Due to all of my health issues lately, my husband and I have decided that I am going to be 100% raw....again. No more dabbling in cooked food! My plan of action thus far has been: -emph

Is there any natural way to cure yeast infections? I've heard that raw yogurt works, but I don't like dairy even topically. Would wheatgrass juice implants help? Are there food to avoid/increase that may help? Does anyone have experience with this issue?

I have a ten months old who eats mostly raw (a bit of cooked to make her SAD-happy daddy happier). My four year old also eats mostly raw. They just do what mom does. The baby absolutely loves her green smoothies! Kale and apple with a bit of lemon is her favorite. She also really digs very soft fruit like bananas, papaya, ripe pear. Although she has no teeth yet, she is also discovering the jo
