Another thing you could try. I do it sometimes. I let sit melons in my kitchen (a week or two) for a while before opening. I think they do soften.

Correct. Unknown. She and her family did not get a chance to find out. And she got slandered and called a scammer in her final days, when what she needed most, was love.

This is not a court. If you need to find the details, watch the videos and make up your own mind. You may choose to believe Jen's parter, family and friends. Or you may choose to believe the heartless bully. Above all, do not forget the real issue here. Harley called a vulnerable cancer patient, a scammer faking cancer. Totally unacceptable. Low. Inhumane.

Diet is one of several factors. Also, there is ethics.

Agreed. And while gossip is pointless and waste of time, saying NO to defamation & threats of violence (DR doing this to a-bas-le-ciel) is something that needs to be said. This is where I draw the line.

I do get green cravings and follow them. I have times when I don't feel like greens at all too. I try not to submit myself to restrictions and be sensible, thought fruit is definitely #1 food for me. Enjoying golden kiwi fruit right now.

And more: It is good that finally what was being covered up for years, is unravelling. People speaking up against it. There is hope. Veganism is beautiful. So is raw veganism and fruitarianism. There is no place in it for violence. And we can achieve a lot more by working together.

Listen to this, make up your own mind: I am not going to engage in conversations and gossip that disrespects Jen's memory. Just passing the message and appealing for you to open your heart and mind on this. Peace.

VegVulcan Excalibur sounds nice, I only have an old round dehydrator with two trays which I got from a family member who did not need it. There is a lot one can make with Excalibur, for example you are not limited with the size of food, and you can use it to warm up food as well. Yes, adding greens is a good way to add minerals to the diet. I find that I need to include them too, although I hav

Hi VegVulcan and welcome to the forum. Apologies for late response, it has been slow here lately. I have a blender (for smoothies), food processor (for ice cream and other treats), dehydrator (small and old, but works well if I feel like making a pizza sometimes), spiral slicer (recommend that one for making noodles), machete (for cutting coconut), a little spoon for scraping coconut (sorry do

I will throw here also some related useful information, very helpful in attacking the issue of bullying. There is a lot of educational material as well as research on the topic, so I will give just a few bits. A bystander is someone who sees or knows about bullying or other forms of violence that is happening to someone else; they can either be part of the problem (hurtful bystander) or part o

bluespixie, that's right, THANK you for saying this. Healthy responses to the issue (as opposed to condoning/ignoring/enabling) which I found reassuring: Yes, there are vegans whose heart and mind is in the right place. To bystanders: there is a lot you can do. The worst thing you could do is to IGNORE. Even if do as little as to say, I do not condone this sort of behaviour, you ar

Durianrder & Freelee may wish for this to be forgotten. To Mitch, Jen's partner, this clearly is not the case: You can support Mitch by spreading the message that such unexcusable behaviour should not be tolerated. Yes, apology is needed, at the minimum. And more, a lot more I suggest. You can read about Mitch here: [911survivor.blogspot.com.au] This is heart breaking, but let us

Thank you Prana. I am not afraid, but nevertheless, it is good to know. I am glad that people are becoming more aware, and I expect that the standards of what is acceptable within the vegan 'community' will reflect this. One can only slip the dirt under the carpet for so long.

Jennifer, shame on you for trivializing this and calling it gossip. Shame on you for defending a heartless bully. "lol" ? Someone died. There is nothing to lol about. Shame on you. Fresh, shame on you for asking people to be passive and silent about something that has to be called out. Shame on you for saying that the victim should take responsibility.
