I have one. It came as a special with the VM. I was going to sell it but have used it more than I thought.
The dry container has a special blade for doing ONLY dry ingredients. It will not take the place of a FP.
But it all depends on what you are using it for? Cranberries is not considered a dry ingredient. If your intentions is to make flour than a good FP is going to cost you more than the

Absolutely celebrate ! You have the blood work to prove it. I always get superstitious about "celebrating" a little too soon.
But with me, I have had lower back pain for over 35 years. I always just lived with it. Since juicing, the pain is gone!
(just hope the superstition gods didn't here that)

If you are still interested, here is a recipe for Eggplant Bacon from Ani Phyio's book. I tried it once and it was VERY salty. Possibly from the sea salt.
1 med eggplant
1 tb sea salt
2 tbs Nama Shoyu or Braggs
2 tbs olive oi
1 tbs agave syrup
few drops liquid smoke (optional)
Slice eggplant similar to bacon slices. Place strips in a bowl and toss with salt to coat. Set aside for 20'. sq

It's funny you should mention that. I am one of those "concerned" types. I hate to leave anything on when not at home. I don't even leave a washer on since, with my luck, that would be the one time it would overflow or something.
BUT, I have left the dehydrator on and went out for about 8 hours. I had no choice.
But yes, it does concern me a little.

Nice article. The one thing that I am starting to question is the quote:

I have read this many, many times in a lot of articles and am starting to wonder about its validity. Too much FRUIT juice may interfere with blood sugar but

What is noisy for some is not for others. My Excalibur is like a box fan on medium speed. I have it in a small kitchen and just got finished running it for 3 days. The noise is not that loud but it did heat up my kitchen.
