This is very interesting as I have two rats and am feeding them an organic, raw vegan diet in the hopes that they will live longer than the usual two years and be healthier than rats usually are. Thanks for sharing! All the best, Audrey www.rawhealing.com

Hi there, Fresh and whole is always better than dehydrated or frozen but dehdrating can be helpful for people who are in transition and are craving the familiar tastes and textures of SAD foods. You definitely don't need one to go raw. A blender and food procesor are more useful for most recipes, IMO. All the best, Audrey www.rawhealing.com

You are doing a wonderful service to your children in raising them with that philosophy!! I am a part time nanny and it is so disheartening to see children's natural instincts denied all the time. I see so many moms pushing food on their kids when they aren't hungry and even limiting their natural desire for fruit! Congratulations on going more raw!!! All the best, Audrey www.rawhea

I agree with Bryan. It's easy, just eat fruits and pick leaves off of lettuce plants. Simple, delicious and cruelty free. Gotta love raw!!! All the best, Audrey www.rawhealing.com

Hi there, I also went low fat because I was experiencing health challenges on a typical high fat gourmet type of raw diet. I had candida, hormonal imbalances and dry skin and dandruf. Since drastically lowering my fat content and adopting a high fruit diet all those problems are gone. I have a lot more energy and feel lighter and have better moods now too. Actually eating an avo and that many

Hi Guys, I follow a very simple, high fruit, low fat diet and adhere to Natural Hygiene principles as much as I can. As far as book recommendations I recommend anything that Dave Klein sells at www.livingnutrition.com. I highly recommend subscribing to his magazine. I also recommend Dr. Doug Graham's new book 80/10/10. All the best, Audrey www.rawhealing.com

I healed from chronic fatigue, fibromyalgia, depression, anxiety, panic attacks, chronic bladder infections, hormonal imbalances, irritable bowel syndrome, dandruff, dry skin, possibly skin cancer (a suspicious looking skin growth stopped growing and fell off). I consider all that to be pretty miraculous! :-) Blessings, Audrey www.rawhealing.com

Coconutcream is right. It has nothing to do with weakened digestion. It has to do with nuts and seeds being less optimal foods than fruits and tender greens are. They are simply difficult to digest. I spend a lot of time on different raw forums and lots of people report that they find nuts and seeds more difficult to digest, not just fruitarians. Once you have been eating simply and purely for aw

HI Ken, Autoimmune disorders respond very well to the raw diet. You do not need any supplements/herbs/etc. You will be getting plenty of nutrients from fruits and veggies. I suggest that you stick to a very simple diet of mostly fruit and tender greens. Food is actually more digestible if you eat mono meals (one thing at a time per meal) rather than blending. I healed from fibromyalgia, chron

Hello! I understand how you feel. I feel the best on fruits only. I feel it is truely the way we are meant to eat. When I used to eat that "gourmet" raw food I felt sick, tired, dehydrated, and all the salt and spices in it left me with the worst cooked food cravings. On all fruit I feel totally at peace and satisfied. I also have pet rats. They are also raw vegans!! I'm hoping

Hi Cherie, I'm sorry to hear you are suffering! I know it can be very difficult to stay away from foods that we know are bad for us. The key is to work on your emotional attachment to food. It can be a difficult process, but it is very rewarding and will serve you well in the long run. I agree with Bryan. Eat more fruit and you won't crave bread/grains as much. Our bodies run mainly on carbohydrates. The best source of them is fruit. You might find that flax crackers help fill the emotional cravings you feel for bread. All the best, Audrey www.rawhealing.com

I agree with the previous poster. If your friend will want scientific proof and is coming from a SAD diet, either Dr. Ornish's or Dr. Pritikin's progams will be good places for him to start. They both advocate vegan, whole food, low fat diets . All the best, Audrey www.rawhealing.com

What do you mean by "you go crazy" when you have fruit? Fruit is our natural food. Fruit should be the base of our diet. I would have severe problems trying to stay raw eating just vegetables. It would be impossible to get enough calories to feel satisfied. Why are you so afraid of eating fruit? There is nothing wrong with eating enough fruit in one sitting to satisfy you. Our bodies ru

When you are craving pasta remind yourself of how horrible wheat/flour is for us. Do you remember making paper mache sculptures in elementary school? Do you remember what was used for the paste? FLOUR and water!! Flour is glue! Imagine it gumming up your insides like that. This visualization really worked for me when I was craving pasta or bread. All the best, Audrey www.rawhealing.com

I didn't experience anything major, some cold like symptoms and some headaches. I feel that cleanses and flushes are very unnatural and harsh to the body. Eating a simple raw vegan diet of mostly fruit will be very cleansing and is natural and gentle. I don't feel like we need to do more, unless you wanted to do an extended water fast, which of course, needs to be supervised by a professional.
