I'm with Juicin' John on this one. Greenstar is the way to go if you are a serious juicer!!

Thanks swimmer. Yes, I actually read that article already and another similar one (don't know where it is off-hand), but wasn't sure how much "stock" to put into them. I definitely think it would be a very interesting experiment to try the raw diet treatment for a CF patient. I have a dear friend who has lived to be 49 by taking very good care of herself, but she was recently hospita

Well, now that I'm using the Vitamix, I can make the full 64 ounces with generally that amount with some variation, depending on the size of the fruit. Right now, I am able to get 2 full quarts for my daily smoothies out of one batch in the Vitamix 64oz carafe with a cup or so spare left over for hubby. With the VM, my concoction has generally come down to: * 4-6 peeled Oranges * 1 peeled

With the winter season leaving us few summer fruits to choose from here in the northeast USA, my daily green smoothies consist of about 6 Whole Oranges (peeled), 2 Whole lemons (peeled), 1 Whole Grapefuit (peeled), 2-4 Bananas, & several cups of fresh Kale or Spinach Greens. I haven't noticed any ill side-effects from the extreme amount of acidic fruit. I prefer to use Grapes as the basis f

You can make nut butters, pates, sorbets, and all those things in any "auger" style juicer. The Green Star works well for that one too and I can also make those things with my upright VRT Omega juicer. It's true that the Samson 6-in-1 can make those things too, but I just wasn't happy with the quality of the product and the SLOW TIME it took for everything. The GS worked the best for

behler23 - I was also curious about the Healthmaster and got some really BAD reviews on the product and a bad warranty too, I think. Do a search on this forum about the Healthmaster to find the threads. I think I started one myself awhile back to ask about the product and was immediately convinced against it. ShineSeek - I'm so glad to help. Keep us posted when you get the blender. Mine is

My personal opinion - If you're not entirely raw or not super "into it" just yet, I would recommend the Vitamix. You can make ANYTHING with the Vitamix - my favorite is daily Green Smoothies - and even try juicing with it, but you are limited with your choices with a Juicer. As much as I love my juicer and highly recommend juicing, I can do MORE with a good quality Blender than just a

Shop around online and you will find Vitamix retailers with free shipping. That's what I did. You don't have to buy directly from the manufacturer to have the same warranties, etc.

I owned the Samson 6-in-1 and sold it shortly after purchase. WAY too slow and unable to handle the heavy use. I was constantly afraid I would break something. I LOVED my Greenstar and would highly recommend it to anyone, but I sold mine to get the Omega VRT (which I LOVE) and to save money towards my Vitamix dream (which is finally being shipped to me as we speak!!). I would definitely echo

Peristalsis is not just to move food and waste through your system. It is designed to massage and encourage lymph flow through the tissues and organs for proper function, among many other healthy benefits. Our bodies were created (designed, evolved, or whatever the reader believes) to experience this function. Coming from a Biblical Christian perspective, I have a hard time believing that God

Thank you for the video. I was hoping you would eat one or open it up in the video to show the insides and/or how you eat them. Can you tell me what the flavor is like? I don't recall ever eating one before, but always wondered about the flavor. Thanks for the info.

You can get too much fruit sugar whether you eat the whole fruit, blended fruit, or juiced fruit. Always a way to get "too much of a good thing." As for the oxidation with blending versus juicing - I saw a blog somewhere (wish I could remember where) of someone demonstrating the difference between blended potato versus juiced potato and the difference was amazing. The blended potato

Yes, I'm curious about that as well. It seems that medical science has proven for decades that fiber (appropriately ingested) is beneficial to health and longevity in inumerable ways. I cannot imagine any study known to mankind that touts fiber has "harmful" to the body. WOW! Please share the source of your revelation, but I am quite sure that it would take reams of medical data to

Kwan, I have some of that Aztec Healing Clay that I used to mix with Apple Cider Vinegar for facial treatments. Would that work as well for brushing teeth? And how do you use it? Just make a paste and brush with that?

I just received the most helpful information on this topic from another raw food forum ( ). I was struggling between the VM 5200 model and the Vita-Prep 3 and had pretty much settled on the VP3. When I asked about the differences, I received this AMAZINGLY HELPFUL response!! REPLY: Vita-MIx 5200 or Vita-Prep 3 I struggled with the same decision 5200 vs. Vita-Prep 3. I sent an email

You might find help on the Blender/Juicer forum on this board at this link: I've been saving for a long time for my dream blender as well. Had my heart set on a VM for awhile. After alot of research and questions, I'm settled on the Vita-Prep 3 of the VitaMix models. Can't wait to buy it as soon as my jar is full enough of pennies. =) Keep us posted on your purchase and how you like it.

What I find quite fascinating is that the the origin of the message is more attractive than the message itself. Having changed my signature because I liked PH's quote even better, I figured it best to return the original quote of confusion because it still stands true, regardless of the orator, and because this argument will continue into oblivion long after the meaning of the very quote is long

Poetree - I am laughing quite jovially right now because of your mis-assumption. (Is that a word?) I am as old fashioned a Bible-believing Christian as you can get and have taken my fair (and un-fair) shots on this and other forums for standing for my convictions. You sadly (and SERIOUSLY) misunderstood my friendly warning from a fellow believer, who, like yourself, will stand for conviction r
