I tried to reply to your last message but it could not deliver the message because your inbox has no more space. I wonder what name to address the package to? Love, Uma

I have a mandolin slicer that I am moving on and if someone wants it and will paya s&h then I'd rather send it to you than give it to the thrift store where maybe no one will recognize what it is or appreciate it! Good for raw gourmet prep. Very sharp, I cut myself the first time I tried to use it so be careful! Send me a private message if you are interested. Love, Uma

Hi, I have a stack of DVD talks that I'm moving on. Several from Fort Bragg Vibrant Living Expo and also from the Rest of Your Life health retreat. I'm not looking to make money here, I just would rather move them on to a rawie than drop them off at the thift store where there's a chance nobody would be interested in them. I'll need you to pay for shipping and compensate me for handling. Se

Brome, Thanks for the suggestion about California Brome. I am wanting to learn more about wild edibles in California so I can supplement my dried foods while on the trail. I just ordered a couple books on identifying wild edible plants.. it is all new to me (except a few basics like miners lettuce or purslane). Love, Uma

I am also looking into this for weekend backpacking trips. Dried fruits, dates, maybe some nuts/seeds. Homemade nori rolls... Thought of taking some wheatgrass powder for that greens fix if no known edibles are around. I also want to learn more about how to forage wild edibles. Love, Uma

Supposedly there's something about mushrooms that isn't really good to eat raw. Maybe some toxin that gets destroyed in cooking? Or maybe some protein that's indigestible when raw? I don't remember. But to satisfy a certain texture and taste they are very useful. I can eat them every so often then my body says no more for a while. Haven't had the magic variety since raw, I used to hide their

Try searching the archives for threads about acne. I've posted some personal experiences of mine and others have too. You can definitely heal your acne, without drugs which just decrease your overall health anyways. You are on the right track. Not just the food though, acne is related to emotions too. I played with raw for years before I finally did it in a way that allowed my acne to heal.

McDonalds still smells good to me. I make a mean raw sunburger, with 1 cup ground sunflower seed, 1/4 cup ground flax, food processed carrot, celery, red bell pepper, cilantro sometimes, just enough veggie mush to get the moisture level i want, then put in burger shape and dehydrate 2 hrs, flip, 2 more hours. Put on a lettuce bun, add raw catsup from sundried tomato and tangerine or orange juice,

In order of ease on the system from last time I did transitioning cooked: Steamed veggies and greens are easiest, then veggie starches like sweet potato and winter squash, then some gentle alkaline grains like quinoa or millet, then other grains like rice. Cooked fat is nasty for you, stick to raw fats like avocados and if you use any oil don't heat it but no oil is gentlest. Minimize or eliminat

I enjoy freeze-dried durian. It doesn't feel harder on me than dried fruit but obviously it's not optimal.. a treat. Someone on another board said they did some googling and found that freeze-drying is less damaging to food than dehydrating. Just hearsay though. Uma

Cocoa nibs, I read on the reviews that once wet, the nuts start to go bad within a few days, so to reuse them you would do several loads in a short time and use them again for each load, not store them to use the following week or something. So do you only reuse them for several loads at once or do you store them somehow to reuse later in the week? Love, Uma

I use water and a plastic scalp scrubber and comb. My hair is curly and used to be really dry, i used to use Black hair care products on it, tons of gel, mousse, pommade, leave-in conditioner, hot oil treatments, etc. so i understand the dry frizz thing. I use some shampoo every few months or so if my hair gets a lot of smell in it like from working around fires/smoke all day or once recently

A few things changed my view of shoes: I knew a healer who felt that shoe wearing was a big factor in modern-day back problems. This resonated with me. Also, I did a trek in the Himalayas. I'd done backpacking and always had high-tech, expensive hiking boots, for foot and ankle support, traction, weather protection, etc. The Westerners doing these treks also had state-of-the-art hiking boo

Let's see, today I started off with some navel/pixie tangerine juice... then moved on to some Ataulfo mangos. Then... had even more Ataulfo mangos... then a banana-strawberry smoothie, and finally, some deglet dates! Had some baby spinach throughout the day too. Mangos are so good. I keep buying more boxes of them and my desire for other fruits has decreased. I'm having some Haden mangos rec

I love this board. I come and go, going through phases of getting involved in discussions for a while then not reading the board for a while. Sometimes I have questions that come up so I ask them. Other times I feel inspired to share from my experience so I answer some questions. And oftentimes, I feel like I don't have questions and I don't have answers either, I just fall in between so I keep m
