I live in Denver. There are only 2 raw restaurants but many organic raw grocers. Unfortunately it is shipped in most of the year but that is the benefits of modern technology. Without it there wouldn't be many choices.

I live in Denver (too crowded, polluted and a big city) but I would live in Ft. Collins if it was a doable commute to Denver (I don't believe in a life of commuting). Its far enough to keep the masses from Denver away and that also keeps the cost of real estate down. It has a university, a very active "hometown" feel to it. Close to the mountains (the part not known by the tourists). A

Check out Sergei Boutenko. He's a great role model for kids. He talks about how his mother (Victoria Boutenko) used to put comics on the wall in front of the toilet so when you went to the bathroom he would see the jokes and laugh. Then over time, after he got used to reading her clippings, she started adding informative articles about the problems with pop, junk food, etc. and what they do to th

I am also trying to lose weight. I have found that I need to cleanse the colon. Eating large amounts of fiber on a full colon can cause issues with proper digestion, proper absorbtion of nutrients, a metabolism that isn't responding properly to the caloric intake, etc. I have elected to cleanse from the inside out with soluble fiber which seems to be cleansing my system very effectively. I have a

I get strange comments here and there but for the most part they are curious. I don't give them the whole story, I just tell them that I enjoy live food. I find its my own ego that allows me to be hurt by others. I sometimes have to remind myself that "why should they even care?" and "what do I care what they think." I am confident in my choices and love how they make me feel.

I found Denver.doortodoororganics.com and its great. They deliver to the door once per week with as much local organic as possible. Obviously the season change creates some out of state products. They provide a nice variety of fruits and veggies for a great price. I order the medium box for myself and its tons of food for only $38 delivered. I end up sharing or taking it to a raw potluck

Great advice Bryan. Listen to Bryan. He knows his stuff. I learned from other posts that all the dehyration and juicing isn't necessary. I have found eating fruit or green smoothies in the day and huge salads at night do the trick. I have lots of weight to lose so that will take time but my other medical issues have disappeared in a matter of a couple of weeks and my energy is great. I take a sub

I only went on Saturday and because I decided at the last minute to go I had to stay in Cottonwood 17 miles away. Not so bad. We just parked on the outskirts and rode the van in. At first I thought the van ride would be an issue but I went with the flow and even thogh we waited for 45 minutes for the van there were about 8 of us (from all over the country) and we all had interesting stories to sh

Chard (without the white stem), banana, mango, and pineapple. MMMMMMMMMMMMmmmmmmmmmm. I also like different combinations using either mixed baby greens, spinich and, for the tough guy, kale with whatever fruit is on hand (apples, banana, strawberries, blueberries, kiwi, etc). I start with greens and add fruit a little at a time until its delicious. Sometimes more fruit and sometimes less, it

I struggle with this too but I am trying something that seems to work. I get up an hour earlier than normal (giving myself 2 hours before I leave the house). Ususally after about 30 minutes I am awake. Then, I do the sun salutation and get the oxygen flowing and then meditate for at least 15 minutes. I have been doing this on days I don't work and it works great. As for the headaches, they aren't

Thank you, thank you, thank you. I have had a difficult time with the salad dressings and many of these are excellent sources of nutrients that only add to a great salad. I am still confused as to whether or not you can eat yams raw. It appears there are both yes and no answers. Is it possible for only those that know for sure to answer this? I know yams are not the same as white potatos and t

Lorretta, I think veggie juice for breakfast, blended fruit for lunch, salads for dinner is a great idea. That makes tons of sense. Perfectly balanced, in the right order. I'm trying that tomorrow. Thanks,Gina

I am on the 80/10/10 and trying to lose weight. I am eating 1000 calories/day and exercising as well. However, Dr. Doug's suggestion to eat 80/10/10 assumes 2000 calories/day and therefore 50 gms protein/day. On 1000 calories 10% is only 25 gms of protein/day and that doesn't seem like enough to me (based on .3-.5 gms/lb of ideal weight). I've been adding light soy milk because it fits the formul

I got a Blendtec and I am very pleased with it. The electronic controls are excellent. There are settings for soup, smoothies, fruit, etc. I am ready to start uncooking with my new blender. Gina

I needed to lose 80 lbs too, now I only need to lose 70. I think you should take it easy and just stick to eating fruits, veggies, nuts and seeds. Eat as much as you want, you won't overeat if you take your time and don't overeat the nuts and avocados. Walking is a great supplement. I am trying to get 60 - 90 minutes per day. I sometimes break it up into 3 walks so I have time. I also have
