I am pregnant and eat only fruit all morning, well fruit and a green smoothie. I start with orange juice, than green smoothie, then fresh fruit, then more fresh fruit.... Finally in the afternoon I have salad and something I've prepared with nuts, fat, etc in it. I'm asleep by 9 so I don't usually eat at super time. In the middle of the night I often have two apples.

Gabriel Cousens is currently doing a study on raw vegan kids. Storm and Jinjee's kids are beautiful shinning examples of all raw with no supplements, although they do use bee products. I'm pregnant now, planning an all vegan (except for bee products) diet for the little one. I'm not decided yet on all raw or mostly raw with some vegan cooked whole foods.

Hi, I'd suggest checking out www.juicefeasting.com Many people have had great success with long term juice feasting. Add as many apples as you need to to make your green juice palatable. I personally like 3 apples mixed with greens (celery -few sticks, cucumber -1/2, parsley - few sprigs, and leafy greens -a couple hands full - spinach is the mildest flavored). This makes 1Liter/16oz.

For some people it may be enough to eat raw, whether or not it is 'living'. Eating only raw and living foods may be difficult to someone new on the raw journey, although it does seem that the majority of individuals progress to this over time.

Stream Beam check out my inspiration page on my website. While I certainly don't advocate eating complex gourmet meals all the time, they can help with cravings, social settings, or just to have something a little more like what you were used to as a meal (not just fruit, veggies, etc).

Green Smoothies Fresh Fruit Salads - endless possibilities When I have time and feel creative I make more complex recipes. This morning for breakfast I had frozen bananas and frozen mangoes pressed through the blank screen of my green star juicer. And voila ice cream. So sweet and delicious.

My symptoms were definitely less after going raw. I have always had an irregular period and at times with the simplest raw diet (low fat) or juice feasting, I would skip periods or they would be delayed until I ate more fat again. I have not been underweight on raw foods, only in a healthy weight range, so I believe missing periods was related to low fat intake and not to my being too thin. My do

When I met my now husband he was a meat eater from a small farming community. He went vegetarian instantly. I was vegan at the time. After a few years he choose to become vegan too, and a few years later we both began the raw journey together. Keep looking, there are lots of vegetarians, vegans and health conscious individuals out there, and even if they aren't there yet when you meet them, y

My husband used to get migraines triggered by bright lights, the sun gleaming on fresh snow, etc. Since going raw he no longer has them.

I just bought a recumbent exercise bike and have been using it daily and loving it! I live in a small town in Northern Canada, so there is no gym and exercise outside is not an option for a great part of the year. I am pregnant and like I said absolutely loving my exercise bike, it's keeping me active, and I make improvements every day - that alone is great motivation.

Klean Kanteens are great! I would bring my 40oz bottle to work filled with green smoothie (for no one to see) then refill with filtered water at the office. When juice feasting and needing more bottles, I bought green glass bottles of carbonated water and reused those to store my green juice. Got a few comments about drinking 'wine'? in those bottles but the green hid my green juice, and kept

Congrats!! I too am pregnant, I just entered my second trimester. I'd recommend reading Gabriel Cousens Conscious Eating for the extensive information on nutritional needs for raw vegan pregnancy (more than I was able to find in any other book). Congrats again!

I believe it's for the opposite purpose. The eating of greens aids in the digestion of high fat foods. I just listened to an interview with Victoria Bouetenko. She recommends combining only the following in a green smoothie: Water Fruit Leafy Greens (ensure to alternate these).

I have often consumed large amounts of raw cacao... Including avocado/cacao pudding and gourmet cacao cake. I do not experience any negative side effects with cacao. Of the above listed foods: Nama Shoyu, miso, avocado, nuts, fermented foods, dark red wines... I regularly consume avocados and nuts and occasionally homemade sauerkraut, and very rarely braggs liquid aminos and miso.

Hi Pipin, I juice feasted for 45 days. The cost was about $20/day. The time varies depending on the equipment you use. Using a greenstar it would take me about 1.5 to 2 hours each morning to make a gallon of juice (3 quarts green juice and 1 quart orange/grapefruit juice) I always use an electric citrus juicer for the orange/grapefruit juice. The only supplements I used were MSM powder in my m

The best way to juice greens is to blend them in a high speed blender than pour through a nut milk bag and squeeze! Nothing gives you drier pulp and less waste! That said, I have the breville juice fountain elite and use that instead because while there is more waste, it is more convenient than squeezing! Also have the greenstar but that takes far too long to clean! The Breville citrus pr

Where I live the days are getting quite short already. There is only day light from 8am to 5:15pm. I don't think it would be reasonable for me to only eat during those hours, and to sleep during all of the dark hours! I'd end up eating for 9hours a day and sleeping for 15!! And the days are getting shorter still!

Hi EZ rider, If you have access to a dehydrator you can make your own tortilla style wraps. Main ingredients are zucchini and flax meal. Russell James (www.therawchef.com) has a great recipe for these, and you can flavor with different spices if you choose to.

Absolutely! I haven't had a cold in the entire 2.5 years that I've been raw, and they used to be at least a yearly occurrence for me. Not to mention my annual bout of strep throat followed by tonsilitis and larangitis! I used to be out of it for a good month every winter!

I usually break it to people gently, and give as much information as is necessary in the situation. I'm a vegetarian, or I don't eat meat I'm vegan, or I don't eat animal products I eat a lot of fruit! I like juice! I actually just eat fresh fruits, veggies, nuts, seeds, super foods, sea vegetables, cold pressed oils, etc...

Matt Amsden the writer of Rawvolution, grew up in Ontario Canada. He discovered raw food and went 100% overnight. He didn't know a single vegetarian. He decided to move where the action was - California. Now he has a restaurant in California, and a raw delivery service operating out of California and New York - to the entire continental US!
