Cool! I wish they'd do the same here in Canada... although I don't know if we'd have enough interest!

I disliked several combinations! I quickly learned that my favorite is banana with any greens, so I normally stick to that, or that with some berries! Oh, I also LOVE watermelon green smoothies in the summer.

Hi Roadrunner, Have you done much research on training for a marathon? I have bad knees myself, and last year they were made much worse by overtraining! I increased my distance far too much one day, and was barely walking for a week thereafter! If you were running 5 miles 3x a week and then increased to 7miles, your joints were likely not ready for it. Take it easy! You should not increase by

If you want a recipe book full of photos I'd recommend Matt Amsden's Rawvolution, or Juliano's Raw or check out my e-books: Each recipe is complete with a color photo. So far I've got books on ice cream, 'grill' recipes (burgers, fries, salads, onion rings, BLT, pie, etc. ) and one for children (or the child in all of us)!

Hi Sandy, Soy is not an optimal food, nut milk is a great alternative. You can make nut milk in a minute by blending 2 tbsp almond butter with 2 cups water, and if you want it sweet add 1-2 tbsp of agave! Volia, milk! As for Ezekial bread, it is not raw, but if you are okay with it while transitioning, it is the best non raw bread commercially available (o; Peace on your journey!

I don't understand why anyone would call others who are teaching what they believe 'liars.' Obviously most 'gurus' believe that the way they eat is optimal, they all feel amazing, and want to share that joy with others. We are all different, what works best for one, may not for another. There is no need to put anyone down for being on a different raw path to wellness and bliss.

Hey vegayogi, If you were already vegetarian and then vegan, you may be coming to raw from a fairly healthy place. Your detox symptoms may have been minor and short lived. Detox can last potentially several years (every once in a while), in someone who came to raw foods with quite poor health. Eat what you want to eat! Read as much as you can, then you can call on that information if and w

I juice feasted for 45 days. I did not do supplements, except for the MSM/ lemon drink in the morning. I had 1 gallon of fruit juice and 3 gallons of veggie juice (sweetened with apples), each day. Benefits: Lost weight Less sleep No hunger Prepare foods once a day - juicing in the morning No need to make dinner Increased creativity Motivation Less than the best: Gained all the w

I use maple syrup sparingly in recipes for flavor. Being Canadian, it used to play a more predominant role in my diet. It could easily be substituted out for agave, you'd have all the sweetness and only be lacking the maple flavor - which you may be okay with. Maple Syrup is also loaded with minerals when you choose a dark variety. I know there are many raw foods loaded with minerals, just trying

I have always been the preferred victim whenever I'm in a heavy mosquito area. Raw has not changed this for me. Also my sensitive skin and allergy to mosquitoes is still present. Last time I was hiking in a National park I got at least a dozen bites, most of which swelled up quite hugely. I was actually really tired and weak for a couple of days after the fact, not to mention ITCHY!!

The only cleanses I have successfully done (lasting more than 3 days) has been Orange Juice (14 days my longest time), watermelon (5 days my longest time), and Juice Feasting (45 days). Nothing else felt satisfying enough (water fasting, master cleanse, coconut water). Orange Juice was pretty incredible, and very simple and cost effective. Juice Feasting is expensive and time consuming, but by fa

I eat ingredients that are not raw but often included in raw recipe books. These are the only exceptions that I make, these I have decided to include in my diet. I doubt that I will include them forever, but for now they allow me a more inclusive diet that I am comfortable maintaining. The less rules I have, the easier this feels to me. I once had baked fries, and spiraled out of control on cooke

Hi Joanne, That's funny, my family is the opposite, my being vegan really bothered them... it was radical! Now that I'm raw it makes sense to everyone, and they are all willing to try raw foods... it definitely helps when I make yummy meals, but I have nearly everyone drinking green smoothies too after gifting copies of 'Green For Life.' If your husband is used to the standard diet, than he

I was fat when I was a kid. I was such an emotional eater. Than I turned vegetarian when I was 11 because I loved animals. That helped me slim down some, but I was still chubby. Then I dabbled in bulemia and anorexia. When I was around 18 I became vegan, then later turned into a junk food vegan, then forgot about veganism for a year and as a vegetarian became fat once again... Then did the stupid

Hi Joanne, I am curious how long you have been vegan? I'm assuming you were not when you got married? If you were not, I agree that you should lead by example, and make him the best foods ever that are vegan!! Try and lure him in through his taste buds and his stomach! If you were vegetarian or vegan when you first got together, than he knew what he was getting into, and I think you can subtly a

I saw a video where the lady who went raw to fit into a dress, and make a video of it (can't recall her name now)... anyways, she went to visit a group of raw people in Hawaii, where they lived off the land, showered outside, and used leaves for tp in their outhouse like toilet. Leaves sound like a nice alternative to both tp and cloth (o:

Hi Blue Butterfly, Congrats on the pregnancy!! I'm not sure how you feel about young coconut...with practice they are quite easy to get into. I just created a recipe for 'yogurt' out of 1/2 cup coconut meat, 1/2 cup coconut water, 1/4 lemon juiced, 2 tsp agave, 2 tsp coconut butter, 2 tsp vanilla. You can mix in berries or walnuts... What about making a smoothie or two in the morning
