For the pineapple, I use the core, because I have a high speed blender, and it can take it (o: As to the little brown bumpy things, some people get sores in their mouths from the acidity of unripe pineapples, the brown bumps may also cause sores. If you don't have that problem don't worry about them, if you do have that problem, try to cut all the brown bumps out. Also, if you cut the pineapple

I love making broccoli salad. Cauliflower is great as rice in nori rolls or collard wraps, also a great substitute in cous cous. Courgettes are amazingly versatile, you can make thin noodles for pasta, or soup, or noodle wraps. You can also make thick noodles for lasagna or spanikopita. Courgettes are also great in raw bread recipes.

Wendi, Did you feel unhealthy on high fat? Why have you changed to 80/10/10? How long have you been doing it? Do you feel a lot healthier? I would go with how I am feeling first and foremost.

The diva cup is very user friendly. It comes in two different sizes, one for those who haven't had babies yet, the other for those who have. I hated tampons and used pads mostly before I found the diva cup. Now I use the diva cup and lunapads. Check out www.lunapads.com, Canadian company selling reusable pads, including hemp and organic cotton fabrics. They also sell the diva cup.

Ikea is quite environmentally conscious. They have futons with washable covers and couches with washable covers. They also have some with imitation leather, easy to wipe clean without any animal suffering.

Hi la_veronique, Yes you are absolutely right, juice feasting inspired and motivated me to: quit my job as a banker, create raw recipes full-time, and I am now planing a move to Ojai, to live in a raw vegan village!! Yippie, I am so excited! Thanks for checking out my site. I have two books out so far, the other one is Ice Cream! I'm trying to show those on a conventional diet that there i

I have a blendtec, after a year and a half and 1600 cycles it started smoking and not in a good way!! Unfortunately there is no warranty. Plus side is I only needed to buy a new jug and that was $70. Aside from this I have absolutely LOVED my blendtec! I have been told you need a vitamix to make raw chocolate, but thus far have had success with all raw recipes including raw chocolate in the blend

I am a huge fan of rawvolution... in fact my copy is falling apart I've used it so much! I have ani's book as well, I haven't really got into it yet, although I have enjoyed what I've tried from her's as well. I find colored pictures really gets me excited enough to make the recipe.

I know that honey is not vegan, but there are health benefits to eating it. I imagine some people may be more willing to try honey than agave which they may not be familiar with. I have seen honey in a lot of raw vegan recipe books, and I am now of the mindset that honey is one thing that many vegans are willing to make an exception on, be it for health benefits, taste, familiarity, etc. I believ

Which nuts are you allergic to? Just almonds and walnuts? I've used sunflower seeds in place of almonds lots of times, with great results. And I've used almonds in place of walnuts, I'm sure sunflower seeds would work there too. Depending on what all your allergic to, I'm sure you can find alternatives: hemp seed milk is delicious! Cashews are great and creamy for ice cream, cheese sauce, etc...

I've been doing some research on teflex sheets and I don't believe they are toxic in the way we would use them... not heating about 110 degrees, and if you wash them gently with a sponge or cloth rather than something abrasive they should not break down and leach out toxins. I believe parchment paper works fine for most recipes, but will work less than the best for recipes that are high in li

I love 2 cups water, 2 cups mixed organic greens, and 2 cups fruit... sometimes mangoes, berries, or bananas are my favorites. Also, if I need it to last me a little longer I throw in 1tbsp flax seed oil or hemp seed oil.

Stick to the seasonal and cost effective items. Banana and green smoothies are cheap and satisfying! If you want fat, use seeds, as they are much cheaper than nuts! Growing your own sprouts is a great idea! And regularly attending potlucks should help to keep your diet diverse and your taste buds satisfied!
