Also, at what age did you start eating sea veggies and becoming much more spiritual? I'm 21 and have aspirations of becoming a holistic nutritionist and certified raw food chef but I'm also very interested in spirituality and opening my third eye (which I believe has started to cleanse since going on a raw food diet). I plan on consuming plenty of nori, dulse, and E3Live +BrainON in the very near

Studies have shown that dried nori is actually harmful and can lower B12 levels, but raw nori is beneficial.

Sproutarian, What is the best time of day to eat sea vegetables and what food combining rules should be applied? I've also noticed that you can buy quite a large amount of certain sea veggies for cheap (organic + lab tested for metals/radiation and all), is this another benefit to consuming a lot of them that you've noticed? I'd assume this is because most people are unaware of the benefits an

Are you getting enough protein? Edit: Just read that last portion. I think it'd be a good idea to up your intake of protein. Hemp seeds are an excellent source of vegan protein, which would be my #1 recommendation. Sea vegetables, avocados, nut butters, broccoli, kale are good sources too.

Not all cooked foods are bad for you. For example, lightly steaming broccoli or cauliflower is still very healthy.

Apologies for what I said, sproutarian, I am in the midst of a detox and have occasional mood swings. Nevertheless, still sorry. What is your opinion on superfoods? I've been loading up on camu camu, purple corn extract, goji berry powder (and berries), maqui, mangosteen, maca, and chlorella.

Meat, dairy, and grains are all terrible for health. Meat is extremely acidic, clogs up the digestive tract, and creates thousands of toxic chemicals when cooked. Dairy is extremely acidic as well and actually leeches calcium from your bones to offset the acidity. Countries with the highest intake of milk have the highest rates of osteoporosis. Grains cause autoimmune diseases and digestive probl

powerlifter, just because you have certain nutritional deficiencies and issues with a raw vegan diet doesn't mean others will. That study doesn't take into account the lifestyle factors or actual regimen's of their diets. Not all raw vegan diets are alike. Some people know how to follow them and make sure they are getting what they need, some don't. Hemp seeds are very rich in zinc and you can

By limiting fruit in your diet, you're doing yourself a huge injustice. But keep thinking you know it all, sprout man! lol....

It's not the vegan diet, it's that people aren't doing it the right way. Zinc and calcium aren't hard to obtain on a raw food vegan diet. Nuts/nut butters, seeds (especially sunflower, pumpkin, hemp, sesame), and dark leafy greens. The only thing that may be a concern would be B12 because of all the chemicals and pesticides and environmental pollution have been depleting the soil over the past 50

I've noticed the exact same thing, that many raw foodists are spiritual. And I only started looking into this after I started to become more spiritual myself. I would say that raw foods make you more spiritual because they cleanse your mind and body so much that it allows you to be on a higher level of consciousness or be more spiritually awake. My guess would be three reasons: your brain is nour

I've read that weed has the ability to expand your consciousness and make you more spiritually awake, but after a certain point, it actually hinders your progress. For example, on a scale of 1-10 based on spiritual awakening, weed can take you from say 1 to 3 or 4, but after that, progress stops and detrimental effects set in. Habitual marijuana use is bad for the mind and body.

I'd be wary of eating/taking anything that comes from the ocean nowadays unless the source you're getting it from extensively tests for contamination (heavy metals, radiation, etc.).

Why is produce more expensive in winter despite the fact that many of the companies that sell organic produce are located in California or other areas where they can easily grow food year round? For example, strawberries at my local co-op range from $2.99 - $3.99 per pound around spring/summer, but now they are $8.99. Raspberries from $2.99 to $5.99 and so on.

Vitamin D from the Sun and your body has the ability to create its own B12 with healthy intestinal flora. B12 deficiency is normally a result of other health issues such as poor absorption of nutrients or digestive problems.

Besides, what would you do to replace goji, camu camu, maqui, mangosteen, purple corn, acai, chaga/reishi mushrooms and plenty others? I get 745% vitamin C along with all the other phytochemicals and what not in a TEASPOON of camu camu powder (wild harvested, raw).

I have dreams of becoming a holistic/raw food nutritionist and certified raw food chef, but I'm a little lost on where to find 'official' institutes or schools specifically dedicated towards holistic nutrition, especially in my area (Wauwatosa, WI). Are there any reputable online holistic nutrition schools?

The fact of the matter is that superfoods are extremely beneficial if you add them to your diet, he's 100% right. Soil has definitely become depleted and the quality is nowhere near what it used to be due to chemicals, pesticides, environmental pollution, genetically modified food and contamination, etc. Goji, acai, maqui, mangosteen, purple corn, maca, chlorella, and tons more are without a doub
