Ok, so I got some in my eyes after I posted last night, I washed it off in the shower and it's a little iritating, it makes you blink a lot, but it was bearable. What happened was I rubbed my eyes with my hands without rinsing my hands off first and they were covered in the mustard oil that floats on the surface of the bath water. Did anyone grow up taking mustard baths? I was considering givi

I was reading a Good Housekeeping Magazine from 1926, and there was ad for mustard baths. The ad said that mustard baths have been used since at least 400 B.C. when Hippocrates recorded using them. WARNINGS I tried it, and you do have to be careful to wash it all off when you are done by taking a shower afterwards. The oils in the mustard make the mustard float on the water surface and the

The way I look at faith and food is that a faith MUST be raw vegan to qualify as a faith to be considered as true. Because the god of that faith is always the Creator, and Creator should know that humans function best on raw vegan. Being raw vegan does not automatically make it the correct faith though. But this is not to say that people cannot connect to the spiritual world, worship God, or g

The Essenes are raw. The Essene books were the original New Testament, before King Constantine edited the Bible in 325 AD, he was not a vegan and didn't want the Bible to be vegan. When you read the Essene texts, which were books that were hidden from Constantine's bookburners who tried to burn the existing original New Testament books after he edited the Bible, you can tell where he edited t

That site had tons of different types of lectins, it was very cool to see them in picture form! Thanks! Since lectins are connectors between things on a cellular level (I think ?) it was like walking into a hardware shop and seeing lots of different types of fasteners: screws, nail, bolt, ect. They are all different, to connect different things together.

Lemon/lime juice! You don't even have to go on the Master Cleanse diet to do this, just drink lots of it with your food. You don't even have to do it raw, the concentrated (and then diluted by you) stuff they sell in bottles was credited by the Journal of Urology to reduce kidney stones They call it "Lemonade Therapy" This is a sumary of a study: This was a news blub about Lemon

I'm sorry about your doggy. I know it doesn't make up for the loss but I used to watch the Pet Psychic when it was on, I don't think it airs anymore and she would "reunite" pets who had crossed over with their humans and some of the stuff she said was really interesting. One pet was very happy because she was following her owner around (as a spirit), the pet made a point of pointing

Ricin is lectin: "Ricin is a protein toxin that is extracted from the castor bean (Ricinus communis). The U.S. Centers for Disease Control (CDC) gives a possible minimum figure of 500 micrograms (about the size of a grain of salt) for the lethal dose of ricin in humans if exposure is from injection or inhalation. . . . Ricin B Chain is a lectin . . ." So perhaps, even if

Thanks for the info, I've got to get everyone I know, who won't give up these foods to at least consider soaking/sprouting/fermenting these foods! I "Another thing I have to mention about lectins is they can be broken down by certain food processing techniques. Remember all those old-fashioned things our grandparents used to do to grains and beans before eating them, like soaking beans

If we lived in a more primitive society we would be drying things all summer to eat all winter, so dried foods would be a natural thing do eat, unless you consider that we are tropical animals and probably should be living in the tropics where we wouldn't really need to dry foods.

I don't think that getting rid of the enzyme inhibitors are a big deal unless you are ill and your body is weak and needs all the help it can get. My guess is that more than 50% of the nuts and seeds eaten by raw fooders are NOT soaked first. It's just a pain, it might take 8 hours to soak them, and then if you want to grind them up into a powder, you have to dry them first which might take 12-14

Protein requirements, as well as other nutrient requirements, are less of an issue on raw food, both because they are not being destroyed by heat and also because their enzymes are still attached so the digestive system does not have to manufacture ezymes to digest them. Enzymes are amino acids, amino acids come from protein, so if your digestive system is not using lots of protein to digest

Thanks for the info swimmer! I think you're right, pancreatic insuffieciency is rare and I probably shouldn't have implied that he had it or CF. Especially since, thanks to changing his diet, he no longer has super-smelly stools anymore (one of the signs of pancreatic insufficientcy)!

I was reading about pancreatic insufficientcy, which I've often suspected that my son has, and I was wondering how one would unclog the mucus in the pancreas? My first guess would be that anything that would unclog arteries would work on the pancreatic clogs too: lemon/limade, grapefruit pectin, MSM. "In cystic fibrosis, mucus clogs the pancreas, and digestive enzymes are not able to ge

The other kids eat the grapes I send with my son :-) I did lunch with him one day and his friend was asking me if I could send more so he could have some everyday. In one of the Boutenko books they mentioned that they were scared of what the kids at school would say about their food, but all the kids wanted to do was taste their food!

That is so sad that they parrot info like that, that clearly contradicts reality. Nutrition is a religion, nutritional school is a seminary and "God" is the source of all this misinformation, the meat and dairy industries. Their faith puts believers in estabished religions to shame, they don't argue their faith logically, they "pronounce the truth" and expect you to accept it.

One paper towel will work Ok, that's what I do when I run out of TP. I think washing your TP is insane, aren't the oil companies behind the save a tree campaigns? They should be. So that we use plastic that will never degrade, instead of paper which will be gone in a year or two? Mullen leaves are the best TP leaves to use. They are velvetly soft.

I didn't watch much of the olympics, the summer olympics are boring, they are about people and muscles. The winter olympics are cool, they are about people riding things downhill fast or flying around on ice!

I would go through everything that she eats, food, supplements and vitamins, and see how much iron she is eating. Iron is infamous for being constpating. The reason why they emphasis iron for infants is that dairy products (formula) cause bleeding of the intestines. So if you are not emphasizing dairy in her diet, you shouldn't need mutch iron. On the other hand, my son had similar issues a

The food that is in the process of digesting, several meals worth of food, seems to weight 5-6 pounds. So when people stop fasting they quickly gain this weight back. So what does fasting do to metabolism? In Bragg's book on fasting he said that he improved his underweight sister's metabolism by a series of fasts. I think that this was because of the cleansing that happened. He also help

1 RF diet changing iris color Yes, It doesn't change the iris color, what happens is that the iris clears up. Poor health causes brown spots in the iris that correspond to the areas of the body that are sick, when those body parts heal, the iris returns to it's true color. For instance, the area of the iris right around the pupil coresponds to the colon, when the colon clears up the brown area

The problem with a lot of cooked foods, like bread and dairy, is that they are addictive like sugar and chocolate are, so if you eat one meal a week of these things, it might give you cravings for several days. :-( I know this from experience, I have in-laws that I often eat with and it always screws up my diet and gives me cravings, but I'd really rather deal with the cravings than the in-la

coco - You read a little bit but you probably haven't read enough of it to grasp that they are trying to make a case for an omnivorous diet. You probably haven't got to that part, they get into that at the end, after they have presented all the info. I read this long ago and got snookered and confused too. What I find interesting is how they make the case that humans use so much energy for men
