What's your take, I just bought 4, by the end of the day they were all gone.. So good.. Reminded me of candybars, and filled me up. I don't think eating 4 in a day is good, however.. Ok I don't think, I know it's not good. Anyone eat them? Try to stay away from them? Jeff

I'm taking a new approach as fruits have made me tired and spacey. I'm going for the more greens and low glycemic fruits. However with the elimination of bannanas as my staple food, and being careful not to overload on nuts and advocado's, I'm getting hungry. Questions: How are you getting your calories on a veggie/low-glycemic fruit diet? What is your staple? Do you eat any grai

I'm really really busy to make the recipe's that I've found in some of the books, the dehydration does not appeal to me, and there are so many recipe's that sometimes it's overload, I can't figure out which one to do and then I just make a smoothie! Could you give me some simple ones that you recommend that really gave you comfort in the beginning? Thanks Marcos, love your posts. Peace.

Mallow, your right, I wasn't ready for the volume that I need to be eating. A salad for lunch doesn't do anything for me except make me lose weight that I don't need to be losing. I find that I personally need to eat hefty meals of fruit as my base along with greens. Today was really good, I drank a bunch of green smoothies, and had pretty high energy all day.. Jeff

I have heard that the greens in the green smoothie helps with the spaciness that the fruit sometimes can give.. Anyone agree?

Ok, Just read Victoria Boutenko's book "Green for Life" in one sitting, really interesting. She praises green smoothies throughout the whole book, with alot of reason. So I make my first green smoothie this morning consisting of: 2 bannanas 1/2 cup of strawberries 1/2 cup of blueberries 2 stalks of celery big bunch of romaine Ok, doesn't sound too bad right? I still feel li

Well I've been Raw for 2 weeks now. I dove in head first to 100% and stressed myself out. So a few nights ago I ate some cooked lentil soup. Felt ok, didn't notice.. I decided to eat a cooked meal for dinner every other night while I'm transitioning. So,tonight I ate a huge plate of cooked quinoa and black beans. Needless to say, 2 hours later, I can barely keep my head up, I almost feel dru

Thanks all for your input.. But as a athletic male, my calorie intake needs to exceed 2500 calories per day. If I'm getting these on a non fruit based diet, where are the calories coming from. If I'm not eating alot of fruit, I'm eating alot of fat no? And fat, even from advocados in excess is not good for you from what I'm reading. Mike, Rawblue, and luna, could you give me a sample day of m

Just trying to figure out what the majority of people on these boards focus on. Fruits are making me spacey, unable to concentrate. Maybe it's just a matter of getting used to the 80% fruit diet. Do the majority of people focus on fruits as their main source of calories? Does anyone focus on a non fruit based diet and if so where do you get your daily calories from? Does anyone else

Just found this article, pretty interesting, our friend the advocado seems to be pretty safe to buy conventionally! Yeah! Careful with peaches though.. Sorry for the long post.. * Nectarines had the highest percentage of samples test positive for pesticides (97.3 percent), followed by pears (94.4 percent) and peaches (93.7 percent). * Nectarines also had the highest likelihood of

Organic buying is expensive, I was wondering if those of you who don't eat a 100% organic diet could tell me which fruits/vegetables you don't mind buying conventional and which fruits/vegetables you make sure you buy organic? I hear advocado's are ok conventional but lettuce and such is bad... please help! Thanks, Jeff

Hi Basia, I did it a few weeks ago in addition to a colonic, and it just seemed far fetched. The technician didn't really seem to educated on it and gave me the manual to read as I soaked. The manual explained that there are cartridges that are put in the metal piece that goes in the water, and that the technician may try to run the machine with the feet in the bath, and without the bath. Thank you all so much... I figure now that you should eat fruits before greens/fats, because there is a layering effect in the stomach. So I could eat salads right after fruit or should I wait 20 minutes ? Also I am reading that it's ok to blend fruits and greens together and drink them, but not eat them together by chewing in my mouth? weird. Does this just mean that I shouldn't e

Ok, Today was really tough. To preface I'm in my 2nd week of 100% raw eating. I have hit a few walls with energy, etc. I woke up and drank a good size fruit based smoothie (bannanas, strawberry, blueberry). Had lunch 2 hours later of a rather big salad. Where I came to the realization of a salad just will not give me enough energy to function! I was starving! But more apparent very weak

From what I've researched your not supposed to eat fruits after vegetables. Ok here are my questions: 1. Is it bad to eat fruits after nuts? 2. Is it bad to eat vegetables after fruits? 3. How long after I eat a big salad or vegetables, can I consume fruits? 4. How about nuts after vegetables? Thanks! Jeff

There are alot of conflicting opinions on fruits in the raw food community. I'm listening to Brian Clement of Hippocrates on a podcast say that he has taken fruit out of his program due to research he discovered. Then I read Frederic Patenaude say that we should eat a diet of fruits, nuts and vegetables, but mostly fruits. He is comparing us to monkeys, saying that our hands are designed to pe
