Date: February 03, 2009 01:39PM I love shoes & I'm a guy! But since going vegetarian over a year ago , my choice has been limited to some outrageously terrible designs. I like these but they have leather upper material. [cgi.ebay.com]|66%3A2|65%3A12|39%3A1|240%3A1318|301%3A1|293%3A1|294%3A50

I Love shoes too, and have lots of leather, but the best 'look' for the sexy, Raw Vegan is tight jeans, long-sleeved shirt with neck chain (gold pendant optional), and Running Shoes. A sports coat could be worn for a dressy look......WY Re: Shoes/Shoes/Shoes!

Tight jeans and a neck chain? Surely you jest! Unless there's a fluff perm involved as well, to complete the look : ) ROIRAW, I am a woman, but the shoes things really bugs me, too. Vegan shoes aren't just ugly[think Prada pump, Fall '97], they're generally poorly constructed, lacking in variety, and bloody heavy--like a ball-and-chain. I currently live in my Daya hiking shoes--like a grid-soled sneaker and made of recycled PVC and hemp. They're comfy and durable and, of course! no longer manufactured. Yes, the company decided to make "duck" shoes, and I can only hope they've gone out of business for this crime against aesthetics! I am not wealthy, but I am seriously considering going to a cobbler with some reclaimed old heavy gauge leather; like from older boots or coats or used upholstery that isn't needed anymore, and seeing if shoes can't be made for me by recycling this leather. here's a good site for gents shoes in the UK: [www.bboheme.com] and for the U.S.: [www.pristineplanet.com] Hope that helps! I've tried vegan shoes, and didn't feel comfortable because of their poor styling. I still wear leather, but feel best when I'm in my Nike Zoom Milers.....WY Re: Shoes/Shoes/Shoes!

Great resource and it's heartening to know there are such services available. I almost went blind looking at the sample photos, though. It was like a deck of Tarot cards--in shoes! I shall look into whether they could use a pattern one sends in, as I don't wish to look like a Cirque Du Soleil cast member, nor an extra from the touring production of Thoroughly Modern Millie on an average day Some of the mens shoes looked good, if one got them in neutrals and short soles . . .
