Just want you all to be aware of this.

FW: HUGE VIRUS COMING!!! PLEASE READ & FORWARD
Hi All, I checked with Norton Anti-Virus, and they are gearing up for this virus!
I checked Snopes (URL abovesmiling smiley, and it is for real!!
Get this E-mail message sent around to your contacts ASAP.
PLEASE FORWARD THIS WARNING AMONG FRIENDS, FAMILY AND CONTACTS!
You should be alert during the next few days. Do not open any message with an attachment entitled 'POSTCARD FROM HALLMARK,' regardless of who sent it to you. It is a virus which opens A POSTCARD IMAGE, which 'burns' the whole hard disc C of your computer.
This virus will be received from someone who has your e-mail address in his/her contact list. This is the reason why you need to send this e-mail to all your contacts It is better to receive
this message 25 times than to receive the virus and open it.

If you receive a mail called' POSTCARD,' even though sent to you by a friend, do not open it! Shut down your computer immediately.
This is the worst virus announced by CNN. It has been classified by Microsoft as the most destructive virus ever. This virus was discovered by McAfee yesterday, and there is no repair yet for this kind of virus. This virus simply destroys the Zero Sector of the Hard Disc, where the vital information is kept.
COPY THIS E-MAIL, AND SEND IT TO YOUR FRIENDS. REMEMBER: IF YOU SEND IT TO THEM, YOU WILL BENEFIT ALL OF US

One of the most dangerous threats ever, a computer worm known as "Conficker," is spreading through the Internet right now. By some estimates, 10 million computers have been infected worldwide.

Thanks Kwan, for the info on Conficker

An Alqada lap top was found in a raid years ago in Afghanistan, and it lays out the plot for cyber war to start when we reach an economic low, and the circle of
confrontation has the military spread out and runnng low on $$ for war. U.S. intel says more are training on computer than combat tatics now and are almost ready and capable of a cyber war, at this point in time could be as deadly as real live bombs because the world runs on computers today. Conficker is laying
idle and has not moved yet but it is out.

Rumor is (per '60 Minutes' program this past Sunday) that the Conficker worm that's already sleeping in corporate computers all over the world will be triggered on April 1st and given instructions -- to do what, we know not!-- inside all of these computers.

Never a dull moment! ;-D

Found a great collection of articles and fixes for the Conficker virus; also an assurance that tomorrow will not be computer armageddon. (Didn't really think it would be anyway.) Tonight we spent about 3 hours taking some recommended steps to protect our computer.

A computer was something on TV
From a science fiction show of note
A window was something you hated to clean
And ram was the cousin of a goat.

Meg was the name of my girlfriend
And gig was a job for the nights
Now they all mean different things
And that really mega bytes.

An application was for employment
A program was a TV show
A cursor used profanity
A keyboard was a piano.

Memory was something that you lost with age
A CD was a bank account
And if you had a 3-inch floppy
You hoped nobody found out.

Compress was something you did to the garbage
Not something you did to a file
And if you unzipped anything in public
You'd be in jail for a while.

Log on was adding wood to the fire
Hard drive was a long trip on the road
A mouse pad was where a mouse lived
And a backup happened to your commode.
