Date: September 08, 2009 03:25AM Wouldn't that be so cool, finding a packet of lovely heirloom seeds for seasonal planting? *sigh*
I think not everyone would benefit though. Perhaps we could start a seed exchange program within this group? Anyone interested in having some offer what they've got and request what they want? I am going to stick with stuffies though, I'm good at those and boy ~ do I EVER have the stash of supplies to make a BUNCH! My mom lives in the states too, and my little 'sis in BC and my other 'sis in Hong Kong and my aunt on the east coast and my girls in TO, Niagara, LA and a fella in San Fran and another in Miami... I can get peeps to leave my creations all over the WORLD! I am stoked. Re: The Toy Society, the gift of random kindness.

Date: September 08, 2009 04:14AM You know what? You got it! Once we get settled into our new place and I get the studio up and running (oops, but after xmas) I'm going to just bust out as many as I can and send them all over the place! I know so many friends will help me with this, you can angel deliver some of them for me for sure! Cool, coast to coast and three countries on my list so far, whee ooh! Date: September 08, 2009 12:18PM I want to leave beaded butterflies with uplifting messages around town. I already have a huge box of really nice cellophane envelopes to put them in from way back when I was selling my art cards; just have to find time to make more butterflies. I'm not too good with stuffed toys. The only stuffed item I ever made was a stuffed pale pink silk hand, holding a stuffed golden heart.
I love the seed sharing idea, Jodi. Sharrhan: [www.facebook.com] Re: The Toy Society, the gift of random kindness.

so hate me for feeling this way and I am not trying to be pessimistic or anything like that but seriously what if someone thinks that it is an implanted bomb or a bunch of powdered drugs or something like that i mean if i saw it i probably wouldn't pick it up because i am not sure what is in it or what it is composed of but then again a part of me might just think " oh... what the heck. stop being paranoid" and take it home with me and feed it lots of spinach salad LOL i guess its cuz it really is a gift and new for me to see random objects out there just for the taking hand made with love and attention i think it is beautiful i like the heirloom seeds idea better though because in that way nothing ends up in the landfills i think the crafts were cute and adorable and i really liked them but i like things that are more readily biodegradeable or even better yet something i can put in my salad Re: The Toy Society, the gift of random kindness.

Date: September 11, 2009 01:02AM I didn't even think of that. Then again, I live in Canada so... we don't face the same issues as our neighbours in the states.
But did you see those cute little packages of handmade goodies? Who would go to all that trouble to make trouble? You'd think someone with those sorts of evil intentions would just get a pre-made thing from some crap store instead. Oh well, whatever suspicions people might have it's become a huge, worldwide thing with tons of drops offs and finds all the time. I love it. Re: The Toy Society, the gift of random kindness.

Date: September 13, 2009 01:36AM Blow up toys, this is what you want to receive in the mail eh Jodi? I'll have to re-evalute my opinion of your habits I think... heh.
My girlfriend is having a crafting sesh at her place this week but I can't start this project until we move. Sad for me but so happy about her doing it, that's thrilling! Re: The Toy Society, the gift of random kindness.

Date: September 14, 2009 06:49PM Slightly related is Book Crossing,(http://www.bookcrossing.com/) which is an online database and ideas on re-homing books by leaving them in public places, with a sticker on them that says Free Book!
You can track them in the database, hoping that their new owners will register that they found them. It's a nice way to pass along books that you no longer need to hold on to, allowing them to be released into the Wild. Live Well, Laugh Often, Love Much We are all in this together!
