On Christmas day, my husband and a friend and I went for a long hike. Some people passed us while we were eating lunch near the end of the trail, and then passed us again on their way back. Later, we found a small camera in a bright red camera case, hanging on a large fern along the trail. Possibly, it had been attached to the back of a backpack, and the owners didn't know they'd lost it. The camera contained pictures of the same people who had passed us earlier. There was also a picture of them standing next to their car, and another picture of just the license plate of the car! We hiked out as fast as we could to try to catch them, but no luck. Then we checked the other trailhead, and lo and behold, their car was still in the parking lot. We couldn't stay, so we debated for a while what we should do. We ended up leaving the camera under a piece of paper outside their windshield, where they could clearly see the camera from inside their car. I bet they were surprised to find that the camera - with pictures of their hike - made it to back their car before they did! Edited 1 time(s). Last edit at 12/31/2009 10:09PM by suncloud. ------------------------------------------------------- > Mahalo. Hi suncloud, Did I use that word right? I know that in common use it means "thank you" but I read a second definition where it means, "Admiration, praise, esteem, regards, respects." Is it ever normally used in the latter way? Thanks. Usually, Mahalo is used for saying "thank you". But I guess it could mean all the rest as well. Kind of like a really supergracious form of "thank you". I like that. I think I'll begin to think of it that way from now on. So, Mahalo! Re: Merry Christmas, everyone!
