Date: January 02, 2010 04:43PM Any ideas on some good things to volunteer for?
I want to do more good things this year and I've visited a few sites on the subject but for some reason nothing seems to jump out at me and say THIS is what you need to do! What types - if any - of volunteer work do some of you do and how did you get started doing it? Wheatgrass-it does this body good! Re: volunteering

Date: January 03, 2010 03:24AM thanks for the suggestion - right now there's snow everywhere and not many weeds
growing, but I think perhaps that would be a great thing to do in the summertime! I'm thinking it would be fun to work with animals, but I have no training in that. Of course, isn't that the point of it being volunteer work - that you don't know enough to get paid for it? I wonder if botanical places take volunteers to help with the greenery, that would be sweet. I see so many places that need help with people, but I usually connect too much and was looking more for something where I wouldn't get too emotionally attached, I guess that would leave out the animals! I gotta change my name, I get the feeling people think I'm a guy - hahaha Wheatgrass-it does this body good! Re: volunteering

Don't know where you are, but you could do something like picking up/sorting donated clothes or home goods for a charitable organization, or unloading/unpacking donated food from shelter trucks. You'd be working with other people doing the same, but mainly handling inanimate objects, which would limit your "attachment" opportunities. Re: volunteering
