the price of gas ! (kinda funny lol)

Date: January 16, 2010 04:44PM Ok so I am in a gas bar store yesterday and this guy is paying for gas
gas here is $1.05 a litre which is roughly about 4$ a gallon US he was buying also a bottle of water which was costing him $1.50 for 500ml (half a litre or 1/8 of a gallon) now .. we live here in some very pristine country with one of the most cleanest aquifer around .... amazing water just shoots out of the mountains in several places , free for the taking so hes bitching about paying 4$ a gallon for gas while paying the equivelent of $12 a gallon for a bottle of water

I reckon this illustrates the arbitrary nature of values and prioreties quite well. A person can feel very upset about paying at extra $10 for something that was cheaper somewhere else, or perhaps loosing $100 at a beach, yet cheerfully purchase that $100 haircut, or buy a personalised number plate for $800. They can complain about having an old car, or having to wait in a queue for 10 minuites to get their food at a checkout, where another can be overjoyed to discover that they will not loose a hand to a car accident, or be accepted for a job which will support their family ( both of which the first person takes for granted ). I think that it pays to observe what your thinking and what it does for you. Sorry, only registered users may post in this forum.
