I haven't tried this one yet but it looks really good

Raw Food Pumpkin Curry - Indian Style

2 cups pumpkin (deseeded, peeled, and cubed)
1/4 cup onion, chopped (doesn’t have to be finally chopped as it will be pureed)
1/2 cup red or yellow pepper, chopped (doesn’t have to be finally chopped as it will be pureed)
1 teaspoon ground ginger, or one slice fresh ginger about the size of a nickel
1/3 cup raisins
2 Tablespoons coconut butter or coconut oil
1/2 cup shredded or powdered coconut, or coconut flour
1 Tablespoon garam masala paste or one Tablespoon garam masala powder plus just enough vegetable oil to blend the powder into a paste
1/4 teaspoon cinnamon
1/4 teaspoon salt (I use sea salt)
filtered water
1 Tablespoon fresh cilantro
1/2 cup frozen peas

Soak the raisins in about 1/2 cup water while you are prepping the pumpkin, onion and pepper. Also let the frozen peas sit out at room temperature while you are prepping the rest of the ingredients.

In your Vitamix, blender, or food processor, blend all of the ingredients (including the water in which you soaked the raisins) except the cilantro and peas. Reserve the cilantro and peas for later.

Once everything is pureed and very smooth, add more water until it is the consistency you want it to be.

Transfer the puree to a bowl and mix in the cilantro and the peas. Warm if desired.

Anything else you want? I sorted through my recipes this morning and there are some real jems in there. Here, I'll post one in the recipe section that just looks OMG droolicious!

And here's another more simple recipe that could use squash or yams instead of carrot

Comfort Carrots
2 grated carrots
1 grated apple
handful of sunflower seeds
tbsp lemon juice
tsp cinnamon powder
tsp cardamom powder
Mix ingredients together and either eat immediately or leave flavours to combine for some hours.

This would be good with soaked raisins, I love raisins and carrots together. It would be really nice just as a scoop on top of green or kale salad too. Oooh, I'm getting hungry!

ha ha coco

i'm gonna give that recipe to some of my cooked friends

they will totally be confused with the word "comfort" preceding what they would consider "rabbit food"

i might just make it, eat it in front of them ( tempt them) and then loudly exclaim " geeez... i just feel sooooo comffforrrtable just about now"

smiling smiley

yeah.... i'm nice like that

Man, I love cardamom. I don't think there's any in the spice cupboard right now but I did have some essential oil of cardamom that I put into a fragrance blend the other day. I was aiming for chai tea, essential oils of nutmeg, ginger, cardamom, black pepper and a smidgen of patchouli. Wish I could just pour it on the carrots, it smells SO delicious! Guess I'll just have to pour it on me and hope nobody tries to take a bite, ha ha!

coco,

I love cardamom too! Alas, the sprouted seeds aren't anything like the ground up ones--so much for using it in all forms sad smiley

Mislu,

Don't observe Samhain--not Irish or Wiccan. About all I do is put out a lighted jack-o-lantern in the front window every 10/30-10/31.

Oh, mirror in the sky
What is love?
Can the child within my heart rise above?
Can I sail through the changing ocean tides?
Can I handle the seasons of my life?

I got some feedback on that oil, my gf says she Loves it! I keep forgetting to put any on, being out in the county I hardly ever even bother to get dressed n/m scented! ha ha

Halloween this year may be a bit lame for us, we'll be moving the next day. Boo.

I'm pretty sure we all celebrate Samhaine though we might not know it. Carving jack-o-lanterns and burning a flame within, dressing up in frightening costumes, going door to door making noise and bringing cheer...
