I'm taking a Poll here....How many of you women here, who live alone, have someone you can call if your car broke down? If you don't, now that's alone. How many of you, man or woman, don't have a cell-phone?.....WY Re: How to be alone

Date: January 27, 2011 03:40AM But the point of her video was only to learn how to enjoy the time that we do have alone. So many of us seek to fill it up with all sorts of stuff and never get to feel that satisfied sensation of being happy on our own. I totally got what she was saying and I really liked it. When she said 'alone', I thought she meant 'alone'. But I should have known better when she said to resist using the cell-phone....or something like that...meaning there was someone to call if she really needed someone.....WY Re: How to be alone

Date: January 27, 2011 01:48PM No cell phone here. I'll probably need one for the new job I'll have for a while, but I already look forward to not having one again.
I have been alone in the past and not had a person to call in an emergency, although that is not my situation now. Worse than a car breakdown, I even had a car accident where I went by ambulance to the hospital for stitches and had no one to call to take me home and had to call a cab. That was a lonely period, which is very different from choosing to be alone at times. I have always enjoyed having some time alone, however. I enjoy painting alone and hiking alone and doing lots of other things by myself. I find I need that time. It helps me to feel calm and centered and better able to be with people, which I find much more challenging than being alone! My favorite raw vegan Re: How to be alone

Date: January 27, 2011 02:00PM I don't have ANY time alone now. Even at night in bed there is at least one small human kicking me in their sleep. I don't even remember what it's like to be alone. I vaguely recall enjoying listening to music or preparing food or reading or cleaning or sitting by myself alone in my apartment. Vaguely. It's been 10 years since I was a single person without kids. I don't even know if I'd like it anymore . Re: How to be alone

I enjoy my time alone too, but sometimes I enjoy being with other people. It's a form of interaction posting at these Forums. I'm most amazed at the knowledge, and wisdom, most of you have.....WY Sorry, only registered users may post in this forum.
