Date: October 25, 2011 12:05AM Yes it's technically political but for once, I don't care about issues. It's just the actual hilarity of the commercial itself. Enjoy:

Date: October 25, 2011 12:13PM Terrible commercial, but I love his theme song that Krista Branch created for the Tea Party --
[www.youtube.com] Song Adopted by Cain’s Campaign Also Aims to Be a Tea Party Anthem [www.nytimes.com] Singer Krista Branch Gives the Tea Party Movement its Anthem [communities.washingtontimes.com] *********** I don't agree with all of Herman Cain's stances on the issues, but it would be so exciting to see Cain vs. Obama for 2012. Date: October 25, 2011 12:31PM I thought that was a joke! This is a real thing? Wow, what a circus politics has become. I mean the kind with clowns and ridiculousness... weird. ~If it uplifts and inspires you, do it.~ Re: I could NOT resist posting this commercial

KidRaw, I agree! So maybe they meant to cut that last part out of the video and forgot? Maybe they didn't notice it? Or maybe R. J. Reynolds is contributing to the campaign? From Mother Jones: And as a lobbyist for the National Restaurant Association in DC in the 1990s, Cain was one of the tobacco industry's best friends on K Street. His group received big bucks from major cigarette manufacturers, and returned the favor by opposing things like smoking bans. [motherjones.com] Edited 3 time(s). Date: October 25, 2011 04:40PM I assumed it was a joke. That they do not see how very, very bad the optics of this ad are is very, very puzzling.
And most people probably won't notice, y'all. Re: I could NOT resist posting this commercial

Date: October 25, 2011 05:54PM Wow, thanks Suncloud! Until this moment I still wasn't sure if it was a spoof or not. And then another poll showing Cain in the lead. Crazy like a fox? I found your article interesting in that they mention that Cain supported the tobacco industry and so perhaps this ad is a poke in the eye of any regulations? It is unbelievable in any case... Does one have to be a supporter already to understand the veiled message? I know very little about the candidate, and the commercial has close to zero substance. Is there actually anyone that believes in dividing the country? Maybe some people do, but that doesn't sound like a winning message. It sounds good, but nothing about how its doing to be done. I also don't believe that one person can possibly represent all interests of everyone. The inclusion of smoking is on purpose? I suppose it is, as it could have been easily edited out. Date: October 25, 2011 11:42PM I KNOW! People are starting to talk about it here, there is general consensus (among those I am in touch with anyhow) that it's a bit wacko banana pants. Of course there are red necks here who support it in a knee-jerk sort of way but they are (hopefully, fingers crossed) fringe. ~If it uplifts and inspires you, do it.~ Re: I could NOT resist posting this commercial

Just watched the other ad HC has up, featuring a cowboy carrying yellow flowers, and am considering running into a wall to expunge it from my short term memory. Wacko banana pants to the third power! Re: I could NOT resist posting this commercial

I am a bit disappointed in Ron Paul. He was asked on "Face The Nation" about Bin Laden and said that he voted to get him and could have gotten him quicker than Obama. I am so tired of these candidates and their phony War on Terror... Re: I could NOT resist posting this commercial

Appeal to False Authority: The investigator is not personally aware of the particulars of any case against Cain, so his opinion is hardly relevant. Please remember that Cain claimed a couple of weeks ago to not recall complaints against him, so his not showing the demeanor of someone who believes himself in the wrong is not surprising. Someone who barely recalls something that happened a decade and a half ago wouldn't; ask any lie detector test administerer. On the other hand, Cain's evident glibness on Kimmel when discussing the charges indicates that, even if he now recalls everything about the complaints, he feels that the complaints themselves are no big deal and that the women bringing them do not matter. I can tell you as a trained cook who was encouraged in school to consider National Restaurant Association membership for professional benefits, the NRA is one of the most fiscally conservative professional organizations and would not settle a sexual harassment lawsuit if there was the slightest possibility of not having to. coco, That cartoon is a poignant statement on hubris. Straight from the comments section of that CBSAtlanta video "Please note that the expert used an incorrect setting in his analysis. Look right above the results and notice that he selected "Male" when analyzing a female voice. Like any software, Garbage IN, Garbage OUT, no matter how much it cost. And I'm not sure how this got missed by the news editor or journalists." ~If it uplifts and inspires you, do it.~ Re: I could NOT resist posting this commercial

If you read further on the Comments, it says - "If you are looking at the screen and noticing that the word "male" is selected, it won't help you discredit this analysis. That is simply an identification option if the operator wishes to store the file and identify the subject in the stored data file. It has absolutely NOTHING to do with the results of the analysis. Sorry to dash your hopes, but this software is extremely reliable. If it says she is lying and he is not, then you can be sure that she is lying and he is not." Can I cite my neighbor's dog's sniffing a photo of Cain as proof of Cain's innocence? ![]() Sorry, only registered users may post in this forum.
