My washer operates very quietly until...
when it finishes spinning, it makes a series of sounds like the landing of an alien spaceship. I should record it and sell it to a Si-Fi screenwriter. Surely there is the potential for big bucks there!

I make my own laundry soap, it's dead easy. So far I've been using a recipe with borax, washing soda and grated laundry bar but I've got another that only calls for castile and baking soda. It works great and is so incredibly cheap, no gross scent to irritating my breathing either.

I just got the recipe off the internet, it really is easy to do.

I wrote a tutorial in case anyone's interested in trying it. There are links here to other recipes too.
