Date: March 25, 2012 06:25AM I read an interesting book by an architect from Saudi Arabia on mud houses. He would form them from clay, building in counters, shelves, sinks, etc., painting them with a glaze like pottery, leaving a good chimney open and then fire them for many hours at high temperature with brush, or gas from the nearby oil wells. They would vitrify like pottery with a beautiful pottery finish. They would be transformed, much stronger and waterproof then their unfired cousins. Re: Mud building course in BC this May!
