Reservations in Hell We've made The future sits there Staring with fiery eyes Burning holes in the crust Still, we cannot bury pride Our demise is surely written But we turn our heads The rotting of our rubbish Does not concern our turned up noses We can continue on our meds Blood spills from Quivering animals Their lips cease to tremble If they were permitted To speak a few words They'd be the most truthful ever spoken We never hear their cries Or watch The light go out in their eyes We think it might stop someday So, yeah..it's probably alright Decades of neglect Hopes and dreams quickly killed We do what has been done to us Blisters us inside from the anger we feel The mirror can hold many lies In it we see ourselves as heroes The distortion in our minds Empowers our Egos When the last generation Count down the last hours Don't you think They'll think us mighty swell For creating a damn hot Living Hell? Author Notes I just hope that we can all become better people but there's too much evidence to suggest that though times have changed, there still seems to countless amounts of murder, torture, pointless conflicts, animal cruelty and human stupidity that grows stronger everyday in the sense of environmental damage. Too many people are naive. They do not understand that they do not OWN any part of the Earth and they cannot tamper with nature. If you're doing everything to help the environment, animals and people..then rawk on! Carla. Re: poem

Date: March 01, 2014 12:51AM That really really speaks to the darkness of my soul. Thank you. Excuse me but I'm going to go have me a good cry away from my laptop slavery machine. It's so nice to read poetry that's not horribly childish, whiny, and cliched. Thank YOU! Sorry, only registered users may post in this forum.
