Our job now is to get over years of believing we are primarily objects, people or bodies. Though we temporarily have bodies, we have to now consciously realize we are peace, joy, love, and compassion. That is who we are literally. In this context those attributes are nouns. And the us of us is life eternal. Instead of thinking we have peace or joy we must be totally aware that we ARE peace and joy, not that we have them. That is a big leap but once made our mortality is swallowed up with immortality.

See if you can catch yourself complaining,
in either speech or thought, about a situation
you find yourself in, what other people do or
say, your surroundings, your life situation,
even the weather. To complain is always
nonacceptance of what is.

All effort at controlling thoughts, appetites and desires cannot but strengthen them along with the ego. Whatever has to go must fall off by itself. All that you are concerned with, all that you are, is the impersonal functioning of understanding. So let that understanding work through witnessing without judgment, knowing that there is nothing else that you can do.

One more:

<Question: All human beings have struggles in their lives, as you say. What can we do to heal ourselves from a painful experience? How do we best move towards forgiveness and compassion?>

The main way to heal oneself is to cultivate compassion and loving kindness by remembering that we all want the exact same thing. Just like I want to be happy and free of all the things that hurt me, so does everybody else.

The next step is to develop the practice of forbearance and patience. This is one of the most important things. By that, I mean really contemplating how when people act negatively towards us, when people hurt us and inflict suffering upon us, they are not doing it out of a state of clarity and freedom, they are doing it because they don't have control over their actions. They are doing it under the control of something else -- their afflictive emotions -- whether
it's anger, hatred or whatever it might be.

When we can see that it's not the person who is actually doing the actions, but [that] the primary cause of this negative behavior is the anger or the negative mind-state fueling the actions, our hearts open up and we have a much stronger sense of tolerance and forbearance for any suffering that's inflicted upon us by people under the influence of these negative states.

I saw that my life long vision of ending duality by our honoring our humanity as well as and equally with our divinity has now come of age. It is not just alright to be human. It is a blessing, along with all of its ups and downs, because at last we can see that truly IT IS ALL GOD.

I believe that that is from The Weaver. The rest of it goes like this:

My life is but a weaving
between my Lord and me;
I cannot choose the colors
He worketh steadily.

Oft times God weaveth sorrow
And I, in foolish pride
Forget He sees the upper
And I, the under side.

Not 'till the loom is silent
And the shuttles cease to fly
Shall God unroll the canvas
And explain the reason why.

The dark threads are as needful
In the Weaver's skilful hand
As the threads of gold and silver
In the pattern He had planned.

He knows. He loves. He cares.
Nothing this truth can dim.
He gives His very best to those
Who leave the choice with Him.
