computer help ( add- ons disappeared)

To continue to your home page, click the Home button. To browse using add-ons, close Internet Explorer and then start it again. >> So, I did close the Internet Explorer ( just like it told me to). Then I logged off and logged on again. Nothing happened. It still had no add ons. Then I decided to click the restart button after I closed Internet Explorer. Same thing.. nothing happened. Without add - ons, youtube doesn't work and I wanted to check out some music... bummer. Anyone have any advice as to how to get the add-on thing to work again?
