juice presses

Juice presses are always in 2 parts. A grinder and a press. I have a K&K grinder and press. I got them both used on ebay for less than the price of a new press alone. I never had anything foam up in the grinder. Sometimes juice will come up into the chute bowl but I can fix that by drilling a few small holes in the bottom the chute. Cucumbers that juice fast and produce lots of juice can do that. I do celery last as the fiber wraps around the cutter blade. ?Wheat grass is worst and clogs it up. Reason I am looking for a dedicated WG juicer like WY has. I just ran 3 huge fugi apples through with no trouble. The press doesnt foam. The problem with the KK pan design is that the pulp in the press cloth blocks all of the flow channles. So it overflows unless you pump it very slowy and tip it to make the juice flow along the top edges. The problem with the peoples press and norwalk is that the pan is open in the front and shallow so you cant put much pulp in it and it starts to flow out as soon as you start to fill it. My new pan design fixes these things. The norwalk grinder is noted for shooting things onto the ceiling. The KK doesnt do that but the chute to motor conection isnt good enough so the cutter hits the housing at times. Sometimes you have move the chute around to stop the rubbing. When I make a new grinder it will be like the KK but with a bigger diamiter cutter for more torque, faster grinding. and a more solid mount to the motor. It will also have hole and drain tube at the chute bottom to keep it from overflowing out the top. I will start testing fruits now : ) elnatural Re: juice presses

Date: April 09, 2008 08:22PM testing under way..............
this is the sweetest testing I have ever done : ) first test watermelon with rind: I could feed it into the grinder as fast as I could. Juice did not come up the chute at all. From 1/4 of a melon the pulp could fit in the palm of my hand. The pulp did not get stuck to the press cloth and was perfectly dry as usual. I cant be testing all these fruits and once, too much sugar. stay tuned for these further tests. oranges, grapes, pears, pineapple, cantoulope, tomatoes, elnatural Re: juice presses

Date: April 10, 2008 02:51PM I boutght a press new for 325 and used a vitamix for the grinder for awhile.
Then I bought a used set on ebay for 175 grinder and press to get the grinder. I I refurbished the press and sold it for 200 so the grinder then became better than "free". The grinders new back then were 1800. Way over priced. One reason I can take this market by making them better and cheaper. On my press the frame will be painted but all juice contact parts will be stainless. elnatural Re: juice presses

no juice comming up the chute pulp stuck to the press cloth a little. an all time favorite juice of mine ties with watermelon and pineapple. This completes my fruit juice testing with my grinder and press. It does all fruits very well. Peaches wont be in untill june or july. When the pulp sticks to the press cloth its not a problem and can be easily washed off. now for some biking to burn up this sugar : ) elnatural Sorry, only registered users may post in this forum.
