How to treat flaxseeds?

Date: May 30, 2008 12:50PM I put flaxseeds every morning in my fruit-smoothie but I am not sure if I am doing it right. I soak them overnight. The next monring they are totally jelly and I try to rinse them even though it is difficult. Then I put them into a blender with fruit. Is that the right way to get rid of the enzyme-inhibitors?
Is it necessary to soak AND rinse flaxseeds and to grind them? Re: How to treat flaxseeds?

Date: May 30, 2008 02:29PM I don't know if I'm correct or not, but I like to just grind them in a coffee grinder. Supposedly that makes them much easier to assimilate. Sharrhan: [www.facebook.com] Re: How to treat flaxseeds?

Sugar may be substituted with Stupid, depending with whom you're speaking. I like to just put the Flax Seeds into my smoothies directly from the refrigerator....no soaking, rinsing, or grinding. If you have a high-speed Blender, you shouldn't have a problem.....WY Re: How to treat flaxseeds?

Date: June 01, 2008 04:08PM I used to grind them in a coffee grinder. But I just throw them in the blender now along with my smoothie/fruit salad topping. They are probably better soaked but I don't care enough to do it. Re: How to treat flaxseeds?

I used to buy Nuts in-the-shell, but cracking them got to be too much of a chore....WY Re: How to treat flaxseeds?

Date: June 01, 2008 04:31PM I like to put about a 1/2 teaspoon or less of flax seeds into my mouth and chew them throughly using my molars. Sorry, only registered users may post in this forum.
