Date: June 18, 2008 11:17AM Tell me more about the "green bags!" I have a box - but have been hesitant to use them because someone said that they have more chemicals on them than fruit(or veggies) with pesticides! They say "natural" but so do animal crackers with hydrogenated oils in them.....so the natural thing is still a bit sketchy. Anyone? Re: How do you store cucumber?

Date: June 18, 2008 05:41PM I use a lot of small cukes and found they are best out of the fridge (unless it is hot) cause they mold so fast. I buy them and then put them in a bowl on the counter to make sure they are dry and they can "breathe". If I keep them in the bag or in the fridge = moldy very soon. Re: How do you store cucumber?

All I know about them is they vent the ethylene gas given off by riping fruit allowing for a much longer storage time than clear plastic bags offer. I've used them for years and always rinse my produce. Getting back to the topic at hand about cucumber storage...how long were you planning to store it? Re: How do you store cucumber?

Date: June 19, 2008 02:09PM I leave mine out. It stays fresh for 2-3 days and I eat mine within this period. I keep slicing out the exposed cut part every time I eat and it's fine. Sorry, only registered users may post in this forum.
