Hard to eat raw in a hospital and ...My son is here!!!
Posted by: gorillawar ()

I am so happy that m'boy has arrived. He was 6 lbs 8 ozs, 19.25 inches long.

It is very hard to eat raw in a hospital. They jack the prices on everything and they close the kitchen periodically. I had my folks bring me a half a watermelon and a bunch of fruit. They also brought me salad a couple of times but it was difficult. The hospital wouldn't give guest trays either. They also couldn't get my wife's vegan tray right. They actually gave her sausage and cheese eggs for breakfast one morning with a side of whole milk.

Patty,

Congrats just don't listen to Shazzie she is a first class clown.

lol I remember visiting a family member who was in for heart problems and she was being fed omletes and roast beef sandwiches.

That was funny.

Good thing your around to monitor things.

Congratulations! I hear you. It's easy for me.....I just committed to NEVER expecting to be fed by others. When others are thoughtful.....that's great....but not expected.

-There's nowhere I've every been where I can't get fresh produce....or acquire it ahead of time. Thus, I've ALWAYS eaten before-hand.....and usually have an emergency snack bag in the car. And the idea that I'm just not going to eat anything for a day or whatever....is NOT a problem...you know? LOL.

It was kind of an emergent thing. We went in for a check-up since she was past due and they admitted us. If I can get food ahead of time I do. I usually pack quite a bit of stuff even when running errands ... tends to keep me on track. We were there three days, kind of gets tough after a while. I did resort to buying overly priced bananas while there.

Great picture! Just beautiful. Every child born these days is a Buddha....heh...heh. Real angels. Oh: and you better believe I've done the over-priced .99 banana more than once. I'm not proud....but I'm willing to do what it takes. winking smiley

He's beautiful!!! I had that problem with three of my kids -- I just had people smuggle food into me and begged to be released early. It's pretty bad when you have to smuggle healthy food into a hospital!!!

Cute photo congrats.

Maybe you can ask the doctors and nurses smoking outside of the hospital if they wouldn't mind to help you smuggle some food ;-)

I really don't like hospitals.

Are you saying that you are not allowed to take food into hospitals? It is traditional in England to take grapes to people in hospital - but in reality you can take what ever food you like in and people do all the time.

Congratulations on lovely baby

Thanks for all your warmth. It's a trip to be a Dad. I have decided to take advantage of my PTO from work and I will be staying home for three weeks to bond and assist my wife. I get to enjoy hours of having my son sleep on my chest. I still mist up when I look at him ... which is all the time. He helps my stand by my convictions of living healthier raw lifestyle and more environmentally responsible. I have also taken up doing body weight exercises wherever I may be. I actually exercised using chairs while at the hospital.

It has thrown us off a bit that he is so small. All the cloth diapers that I bought are way too big and I have to use disposables until my shipment comes in.
