Ball canning jars

Date: September 04, 2008 11:03PM i have definately cracked mason jars in the freezer. i would say not to do it, the glass is rather thin. though if you were sure to leave the lid off to allow for expansion and carefully check the jars for cracks it might be alright. Re: Ball canning jars

Date: September 05, 2008 01:02AM I agree with Coco. I wouldn't do the glass thing in the freezer. You could use a big stainless steel thermos instead. I'm sure that could handle a bit of thermal flux.
