Date: May 25, 2006 06:47PM I'm curious to try them. But not $9 a pound plus shipping curious. It's a competitive market out there, I'm sure I can find a better price.
Thanks though, I've been wanting to try raw oats for awhile now. Re: Raw sproutable oats!

Date: May 25, 2006 11:05PM I saw a macrobiotic website once that sold rolled oats which weren't steamed. I can't find it now. Anyone ever heard of it? Re: Raw sproutable oats!

Date: May 25, 2006 11:07PM Hmmmm, once you add shipping, it costs 72cents more at highvibe.com. Although, I like have multiple options for ordering my food. I think the best deal is probably finding a local farmer and hitting him up around harvest.
Thanks, Ian. Re: Raw sproutable oats!

Date: May 26, 2006 06:02PM The Wall Street Journel for today lists the price of oats as 182.5 cents per bushel. With 32 pounds in a bushel that comes to 5.7 cents a pound. OK special organic oats in small quantities should be higher but not by 16,000% ! Edited 1 time(s). Last edit at 05/26/2006 06:05PM by brome. Re: Raw sproutable oats!

Date: May 26, 2006 06:24PM Thanks for the info! I think I should go into the raw organic oat biz!
I'm happy to support business supporting the raw vegan life style, although i'd like to pay less. The retail value is bound to a lot high because they don't keep very long. Ian. Re: Raw sproutable oats!

Date: June 19, 2006 04:39AM not to sound like I know it all but all grains are bad.. try the buckwheat groat.. its actually a fruit seed.. not a grain..
grains take hours to soak if not days to get soft. the buckwheat takes an hour and it gets soft. imagine how bad grains are for you. I hope that helps, RawfoodAdvantage.com Re: Raw sproutable oats!

Date: June 23, 2006 12:49AM Ah, a moment too late Mark. I already order from the RawBakery (it came very qucikly considering it was from NY and the quality is good).
Next time. Jaffe Bros is right in my neck of the woods too. I will do a taste test and report back. Re: Raw sproutable oats!

Date: June 24, 2006 10:28PM Narz,
I've been ordering from Jaffe Bros. for a long, long time and the quality of their organic products is excellent. You can bet that if they say it's raw, it's raw. They take their listings and reputation very seriously and have been in business for a long time. I know you won't be disappointed.
