[abcnews.go.com] How many of us have actually HAD this food neurosis. I can say I have had many a night worrying about food. If it was clean enough. Edited 1 time(s). Last edit at 09/10/2008 09:21PM by suvine. Re: Food neuroris

Date: September 11, 2008 03:26AM I don't have a food neurosis but it does bother me when I can't find good organic produce and I have to settle for commercially raised produce.
My daughter has a hormone imbalance and so we're trying to eliminate toxins as much as possible. The body processes pesticides as xenoestrogens which can create a hormone imbalance so it's important that I try and keep away from pesticides. It usually only bothers me while I'm at the store buying the produce but I never think about it again after that. Re: Food neuroris

Date: September 15, 2008 07:07PM In the beginning, I thought I'd discovered the fountain of youth with raw (and still feel that way). I was thinking/reading about raw day and night. Maybe I was orthorexic?
But I don't believe I do this to control how/when I'll die. I do it because I am getting a LOT more out of my life for whatever time that remains and equally if not more so because I cannot be a part of the suffering caused to so many animals on a meat centered SAD diet. Re: Food neuroris

Date: September 16, 2008 11:24PM I think I might have a bit of this. It has became a bit of the focus of my life recently, despite having a 2-year old child and being pregnant. I do feel better in this diet however and I am only looking to feel better day-to-day. Of course, without causing any harm to myself in the long term. I also do believe it will help me avoid a family history of cancer...
Ok, might go to bed now and stop thinking about food . I still eat about 40% non-raw a day, though. If it is an obsession at the moment, I hope it'll be a passing one. An obsession that leaves healthy habits behind it Sorry, only registered users may post in this forum.
