Date: October 02, 2008 03:27PM Nutritional yeast and mushrooms, people! By the way, most B 12 is synthesized in a fungal medium because it has sympathetic metabolic chemicals to the intended vitamin. If you want to know more about vitamin synthesis, Google Dr. Albert Szent-Gyorgyi and Dr. Endre Szalay. Please remember that B 12 is a water soluble vitamin. Rawtarians consume huge amounts of water which encourages the flushing out of water soluble vitamins. Also, men and women do sometimes metabolize vitamins and minerals differently, so what is working OK for the fellas on this site may not work OK for us. Studies have shown, for instance, that women of child-bearing age tend to be much more likely to develop B 12 deficiency(due possibly to endometrial hormone fluctuation or birth control use) than men of the same age. Such differences are important to keep in mind. Re: vitamin b12 supplement suggestions

Date: October 02, 2008 04:53PM being new to raw foods (and loving it by the way), I have been getting B-complex shots for awhile now...although all my medical tests showed no deficiency, i definately feel better when taking them. I get mine from a Naturopathic physician, they contain no preservatives, and make me feel tons better.
Hopefully I will not find the need for these now that I have adopted a much better eating plan.....we will see.... Re: vitamin b12 supplement suggestions

Date: October 03, 2008 12:25AM Just to be on the safe side, I take B12 (liquid - "Complementary Prescriptions" even tho I sometimes eat eggs. I read about folks who think they feel great w/out B12 even though they have been vegan for ages, then, Blammo! - the @#$%& hits the fan, the symptoms become more noticeable, and it is too late. It's not like the stuff is manufactured from cows' hooves or anything. Re: vitamin b12 supplement suggestions

Is it worth taking a risk because you read some article not to? B12 sublingual is the best but be careful of the cheap walmart types. Sorry, only registered users may post in this forum.
