Date: September 23, 2008 06:23PM Hi. My Fiance finds it hard to believe that we have the possibility of changing our DNA for our children.
I read somewhere ( I dont remember where), that if we detox and rid our body of toxins, our DNA will not pass down poor genetics such as ADHD and allergies. Does anyone know more about this? Thanks. Re: Can I really change my DNA by detoxing?

Date: September 23, 2008 07:21PM There are 2 parts to your genetic heritage, the DNA and the epigenome. The epigenome controls which genes in your DNA are turned on or off. When the wrong ones are turned on or off a whole host of diseases, such as cancer, can manifest. Your diet can get the epigenome straightened out.

Date: September 24, 2008 03:10PM Cells have the ability to repair damaged DNA. In a clean body this repair can proceed most efficiently. Damaged DNA and a damaged epigenome will be passed on to one's children unless repaired.

It's one of the reasons why it's better to have kids when your body is young, this goes for fathers as well as mothers. Sorry, only registered users may post in this forum.
