Date: September 27, 2008 10:51PM I talked with someone at a local health food store that was filling up 5 gallon glass jugs with filtered water. She got them from our a local water company. Apparently, they are cheaper than the plastic ones but heavier. Also, they shatter when dropped, of course.
The water company here is called Distillata and is based out of Akron, OH. The woman drove down to Akron and picked up the bottles. She had the typical plastic cap that you pull off of a regular 5 gallon jug as her cap. It wasn't the screw on kind the you get with the plastic ones. Re: 5 gallon glass jug

Date: September 28, 2008 06:04AM If you can find a local Brewshop (where they sell beer supplies) they will certainly have these items. I also recommend buying the nice little 'jacket' that allows you to pick up the jug....and helps lower the chance of breakage. Just a tip. The other option is to simply use multiple empty wine jugs and bottles....which can often be had by raiding your local recycling bin.

A 5-gallon glass jug is very difficult to handle. You might try the local food stores. Some of the acidic juices come in glass containers......WY Sorry, only registered users may post in this forum.
