Late night snacks
Posted by: rufio ()

I'm having trouble kicking cereal which I eat a bowl or two of at night. What else could I replace it with that's raw and filling but doesn't have too much fat?
What do you eat for a late night snack?

I have cravings late at night too, mostly for breads and such.

Can frozen bananas be made into ice cream using a blender? Do I have to add a liquid to it?

I try to drink water when it's late. Chugging it fills my belly and I'm usually set. If not, I try to eat fruit

rufio--
Try just cutting up bananas and freezing them. They're my favorite 'slightly naughty' night-time snack, and to me they are like ice cream (in fact, even better) just as is. But I'm WEIRD. :-)

Lately I've been using my food processor to make banana ice cream too!
I've been adding frozen strawberries and a little agave as well.
It really satisfies my desire for ice cream!
Sooo good!

I get a blend of grains from sproutpeople.com called "Amber Waves of Grain." It's got amaranth, quinoa, and a lot of other sprouts I can't recall...

But I sprout them for about a day/36 hours. Then I throw two bananas in the blender with some cinnamon to make a sauce, pour the sauce on the grains... and RAW CEREAL that will rock your world!!

Adding coconut water, vanilla bean, or pears to the bananas can also be quite exquisite. The only downside is waiting for the sprouts.
