food cravings

Date: July 25, 2008 02:48PM I have heard women friends talk about menopausal food cravings before and hadn't thought much about it, as I hadn't experienced such a thing. Now, however, I am going through menopause and I am experiencing the most overpowering food cravings I have ever had. To make it worse, the cravings are for things I don't usually eat - animal foods, sugar, etc. Are there any tricks to overcome this?? Please don't tell me the psychological stuff because that does not work! I do know that staying away from too much fat alleviates some of the sugar cravings and that works pretty well. What else? HELP!! Re: food cravings

How about green smoothies? They have helped me through cravings. Fruit and greens, the best of both worlds! L Re: food cravings
